It's amazing how everyone bashes Davidson

I'm with you there. The way the game was going at the time, there was no need to air the ball out when you have Double Trouble in the backfield. We weren't playing the Saints. You can't jump the gun too early. Our running game is too much of a threat to put on ice with the game still hanging in the balance.

I wonder why they always say they had a good week of practice! They only practice 10 plays! Did Davidson ever play football in the nfl? Davidson couldn't hold henning's jock strap! Well briefs! Every week the same stuff! Henning had Ricky Proehl looking like a young Ricky! Almost. He was a 3rd down specialist! Why cant they put moose in the slot and do the same thing! Davidson is garbage thats why!

Are you guys serious?

He was praised last year; when we were winning.

Why was Henning booted? This is unreal. Everyone talks out their asses on here. The one common denominator is Fox. Get him out of here and see what happens. I'm not saying Davidson is undeserving of some kind of criticism, it's just that most of the criticism toward him is misguided; mostly, reflected off of Fox's, for lack of a better word, idiocy.

Next to the head coach, the coordinators are the most popular guys to bash. Fwiw, my only criticism of Davidson is that he sometimes calls plays as if we have a good QB, which we don't. Other than that, I don't have a problem with him. The basic structure of the offense, and the talent level is mostly good.

I mean Davidson isn't amazing but he isn't a legit problem right now. Guy tries to take shots and get us ahead, but he also loves running the ball with Williams and Stewart. It isn't his fault that he doesn't have a good QB to work with.

but it is his fault when he KNOWS he doesn't have a good QB and calls 3 pass plays on first and goal on the opening drive of the game!!!!

this and this alone should show you how out of touch he is with understanding our strengths and weaknesses he is or, if he understands them, how poor he is at playcalling. there is no excuse, or sugarcoating that can be applied to calling 3 pass plays on first and goal on the opening drive of the game! :nono:

Imagine running a shift at McDonalds and your only cashier has no hands.

Such is the life of Davidson.

thus, you make an executive decision to move the fry cook to cashier...

if davidson KNOWS jake is no good.... then why keep putting the ball in his hands in key situations??? first and goal on the opening drive and he calls 3 pass plays?

if your cashier has no hands, move them to "greeter" at the door, and bring in a cashier from the back room to get through the shift until you can hire another regular, experienced, qualified cashier!

it's not rocket science people..... davidson should be able to figure that out if i can.

Davidson is in a lose lose situation. NO game...he doesn't trust Delhomme and is bashed. Miami game...he trusts Delhomme and is bashed still. Buffalo game...tries to protect Delhomme by being ultra-conservative and is bashed. Eagles game...he doesn't try to protect him and is bashed. Davidson can't do anything right because our dumb-ass head coach promised our QB to stick with him no matter what.

I personally thought we passed a bit much, they were still good calls. Delhomme was just off which held up our whole offense. On those "3 pass plays". The 1st smoke route is basically a run play, but Jake Delhomme misthrew it (testament to how inaccurate he was). 2nd pass play, Jeff King was open.

    • Would be happy with Lomu or Iheanachor at 19. Fano is intriguing but I don't think he makes it.
    • II see it this way: We have to look at long-term needs and current depth.  We have filled some key spots with players on one-year contracts.  I firmly believe that they intend to pay Bryce some big bucks next year.  That means you cannot hope that your rookies in 2027 can fill the spots vacated by the veterans you could not afford to re-sign.   We need to consider the cap and the fact that the need to start a rookie is not viewed as a positive by coaches and general managers, but they value first contracts--so it is a delicate balance. I think they have to look at the cap by position--"Can we afford a $50m QB and a $100m OL?  That is half the cap, before you pay your WRs and RBs and TEs.  They need to start getting younger on the OL as well.   I am not suggesting that we draft OT in round 1, but we could and I would get it.  RT on a 1-year deal, they may have intel about Ickey (who was not the best LT, to be honest) and 32-year old Moton is on a bad wheel.   Now if you go by Morgan's history, you can almost tell what position we are going to address with the first pick by noting the positions he has not focused on in free agency.  DT, considering the lack of performance by those not named Derrick Brown and the loss of Robinson, is screaming to be addressed with a top player.  Wharton is not an early down DT (DE if you want to get technical) and our LBs need to be clean--they were not in 2025.  Look for a DT early. I also think we will address ILB (pass covering Will) on day 2.  The other day 2 pick will be an OT, in my view. Do not rule out CB.  We are thin there too, and Jackson is in his final year.  I am not sure that we love Smith-Wade.  Some crackhead on here talked about moving him to S----stay tuned.   Hopefully, a team wanting Ty Simpson will move up and offer us a pick or two to move back. DT WILB OT OC QB  (you heard it here 337th--but this pick could come sooner than you think.
    • Bryce had some bad games, but he had some good ones as well (and this is coming from a Bryce skeptic). I think it's a little simplistic to put all the offensive woes on Bryce, you also should be looking at O-line play, receiver play, RB and TE play, and also coaching. There's no way when I look at the offense in it's totality am I ready to say that a so-so to bad offense was all on Bryce, and, I also can't say that we don't need to upgrade any position on offense, save Tetairoa McMillan (who also wasn't perfect) and maybe the starting guards and T-mo.
