Panthers should try this play

Thats a great one from the Hester highlite reel...There was a good one I remember seeing, kinda old now, but with DirectSnap being the in-thing in today's football it would/should work. The QB walks away from under center like hes going to the sideline to talk with the coaches, then the RB gets the ball while the defense is watching the QB walk away. Everybody would believe Delhomme's confused...

I think I saw that earlier this year. Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't remember the game it was in if not.

My junior high team had a "jump pass" play where the receiver ran straight across the line and the QB just jumped up and threw it to him. It worked one time, and only one time. Thereafter the opposing team jammed the receiver and we'd end up throwing it straight to the middle linebacker.

Never understood why our coach called that play more than once in a game.

We should play a game with nothing but trick plays on offense. All out of the punt formation.

Have the Panthers ever tried a fake punt in a game? You know, one or two of those would go a long way toward keeping the opponent from going after your punter full speed ahead.

I think they tried letting Sauerbrun pass it once. As I recall, the result was awful.

I think Baker could run for the first down if it was fourth and four or less. I'm surprised more coaches don't do this. Like doing an unexpected onsides kick, you're not only keeping the team you are playing at the moment honest, but the next five or six opponents, too.
