Pre draft - “Slater doesn’t have ideal size”

Season - Slater has one the best rookie OT seasons ever

post season interview - “yeh but he doesn’t have ideal size”

(doubling down on his incorrect evaluation on the radio as an NFL head coach)

see how idiotic that is whether it’s honest or not.

Do you know how conversation work??

He was asked why you didn't draft Slater "6 months ago" not why you didn't draft him after his all pro season??

He answered the question (like he was supposed to) what the thinking was back then?? Did you not understand this was a past tense situation??

Some things just shouldn't be said. Take a page from the GOAT's book and say as little as possible. Yes, that would've been more prudent. Rhule talks too damned much.

The Goat only gets to say that because hes the goat... And still ppl clown him for not answering questions..

When you're a bad coach after a bad season.. You Atleast better be able to answer questions and do it truthfully without BS..

This was one of the 1st interview where he did that and didn't give coach speech and ppl are still mad...

All he had to say is, "We think Jaycee Horn will be pretty good too. He was doing pretty well before injury derailed his season."

It's crazy ppl want him to lie or not answer questions.. I guess now..

Well from now on it will be the “Missed Opportunities”, “The other team team gets paid to make plays too” and “It is what it is” from this staff.

Matt is like my good friend from the City who says what is exactly on his mind so folks never have to wonder where he stands on a matter. The negative is that when you have a job like this one, he needs to go against his instincts.

Guy cites the hoodie as being the goat and then says Rhule shouldn’t follow his ways.

literally can’t make this up

You do understand that 1 person has earned the right to be that way.. And the other person hasn't??

You do understand it takes 6 championship to be Belichick??

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
