Should Mike Vick Join Panthers?

Unreal, simply unreal.

We have the worst starting quarterback in the league and you guys are STILL too afraid to entertain the notion that we passed up someone that would have performed better than he has done.

With Jake Delhomme on November 24th, we have the worst starting quarterback in the league and no chance at the playoffs. Are you saying that the same would have been true if Vick had been the starter from Opening Day on?

Seriously guys, I thought we were past this.

I am aware of the QB problems, but bringing in a guy who was a lacking as a passer BEFORE missing two years of football to replace a guy who is has been struggling really bad seems a lot like replacing an 87 Tempo with a 90 Cavalier.

What did Jake do when he played a defense as bad as Detroit's? Against Tampa Bay, he threw one touchdown, two picks, and was 9 of 17 overall for 65 yards. TB has allowed the third-most touchdowns through the air in the league.

you win jake sucks...but ......nevermind I give up....

It's not just Vick specifically. I'm not much of a Vick fan really, but I understand that even he would be a better option than Jake Delhomme. So would Brett Favre, a league MVP candidate this year that we passed on. So would Chad Henne/Joe Flacco/Brady Quinn, other quarterbacks that we've passed on lately.

You guys honestly think that Vick would have played more poorly than Jake has this season? No starting quarterback in the league can currently say that they've played worse than Jake has, I find it highly unlikely that Vick would.

You're a moron if you think Jake is the ONLY problem with this team and is the sole reason that we are not making the playoffs which is what your initial post was insinuating. What have you seen Vick do this year as the third string quarterback in Philly that suggests he would be our savior? I'm eagerly awaiting this response.

In the same way that watching your house burn down with your family trapped in it is a better option than being in there with them.

I love by the way, how overly emotional SMF characterizes anyone who takes issue with his complete knee jerk posts based upon what he saw other quarterbacks do on SportsCenter two days ago as someone who is backing Jake Delhomme as our starting quarterback.

Nobody here is prepared for how truly breathtakingly awful we would be with Vick as a starter on this team. What do you people advocate doing with Vick as the starting quarterback on this team, running the triple option or something? He's horribly inaccurate, can't pass with anything resembling touch, and locks onto his targets. Don't we already have one of those?

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
