No disagreement there. Michigan, Notre Dame, and Texas are probably the three biggest delusional fanbases in college football. They all think they're top 5 programs. They used to be but they haven't been in a looooooong time. Nebraska used to be in that group but they seem to have accepted their new mediocre reality.

I'm a Michigan fan but I'm not delusional. Recruiting is now much more difficult for them. Once the internet boomed, players didn't have to go to a big school to be seen. Obviously it helps, but they could be a backup at a school like Michigan or a top tier starter elsewhere. Then there is the football powerhouse that is the SEC and the optimal weather year round for young men looking to have a good time. I doubt Michigan will ever be really relevant long term again.

Michigan's far bigger problem is that they've effectively become OSU's little brother.

OSU is the only Big 10 team that belongs in the conversation with the upper tier of college football. Speaking of Michigan, I would dare say that not only OSU, but Penn State and Michigan State have had more success in recent memory.

Who would have ever thought the Big 10 would be more competitive in college basketball than college football

They just need to add OSU and Clemson to the SEC.  Kick out Vandy and SC. Rename it.   I hate ND too much to include them but I guess you could kick out Miss St or someone.   That’s basically college football at this point.

I would keep ND out, they would get slaughtered weekly in the SEC. Overrated yearly. Cincinnati beat them in South Bend this year, yet the media actually pushed for them over Cincy in the playoffs.

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
