Compiled by various members of The Athletic staff, a list of players that teams might be looking to move on from via either cut or trade for cap reasons (Link)

For the Panthers...

- CB AJ Bouye

- WR Robby Anderson

- DE Morgan Fox

- T Cam Erving

- OL Dennis Daley

We really got a good deal on Bouye.  If we re-sign Gilmore or Jackson, I bet they try to move him.  Could be worth a 5th and saves us 3.5m.

No one will touch Anderson. He'll never be worth the money we paid, but cure the dropsies and he's a decent weapon.  What a bad extension that was.

Cutting Fox saves 3m.  Good luck finding someone comparable for that amount.  We are already losing Reddick and Jones so can't see him going anywhere.

Erving is a decent swing T.  Saves 2m to cut (4.5m dead).  It will be tough to find a vet swing T for 2m.  Probably ride with him another year.  Better OL coach should help here.

Daley - No way we pay 2.5m to an average talent like this.  He can be replaced with one of our 6ths at significantly less cost.  Best of luck to Mr. Daley.

One other name I noticed on that list...

Bryan Bulaga

He used to be one of the best tackles in the game. Now personally, I'm not a big fan of signing guys based on what they used to be, but given the connection to James Campen, I gotta wonder if we might at least give him a call.

He's a middle guy, isn't he? Or am I remembering wrong?

We could really use a good MLB. Carter is a backup, at best.

He was a middle while on the Rams. Went to outside backer on the raiders. Littleton would be the missing cog on this defense IMO. Him and Shaq would be pretty ridiculous, not Kuechly ridiculous, but TB LB core like.

    • Sellers has bust written all over him..unless he goes to a team that can afford to sit him where he can learn the game and develop without the pressure of starting immediately. Not sure that is the Panthers. If we do go rookie in the draft, he can't be viewed as a day 1 starter. He does have potential, but I think it is going to have to be a handle-with-care situation.
    • Nothing will change with the qb situation until Tepper is convinced Young is not viable. Until that point, it will be Young. During that time, any shortcomings of Young will be because he does not have the necessary supporting cast, and/or coaches are failing him with faulty schemes and defective gameplans.  So, until Tepper is out, Young is in.
    • Young is the kind of QB who will go as far as the team drags him 90% of the time. And once in a long while he'll explode and light the opposing team up. That is not anywhere near where we need to be as a team. What' worse is that we've won way too many games this season due to an extremely easy schedule. So we can't select a top QB in the draft, and a free agent QB is usually not the answer.  The Panthers fell victim to a long stretch of bad QBs coming out of college. Even if we had made different moves and selected any number of different QBs coming out, we still would have ended up with a bust most likely. Bryce is a bust. Tua is a bust. Zach Wilson? Yikes. Trey Lance. Justin Fields. Mac Jones. Kenny Picket. CJ Stroud. My point is that a lot of teams were devastated by this stretch of bad QBs coming out of college, but we were dumb enough to trade the farm for one of them.  The smart move? Tale the 2 first round picks from the Rams for Burns, and keep CMC. Sit tight. Whatever QB falls in your lap in the draft, take him. Then use the other two first round picks to build up the o-line on the cheap. This isn't Morning GMing. I said take the Rams deal at the time. We have not had a good GM ever in franchise history.  No more trading up for QBs. Clearly is a total guessing game. Stay put. Trade vets for draft picks and start the rebuilding process with a new GM and new coaches. Cut Bryce and bring him back on a vet min deal. Then cut him again for being trash. He's done here if I had any say.
