I'm Calling it Now: Trade for Dennis Dixon

Watch the game tonight. I thought the guy had a future watching him his last year in college. His stock dropped tremendously around draft time b/c he shredded his knee and he was another victim of the "better athlete than QB" stereotype.

The guy can ball. Strong arm, accurate, and mobile.

He was a front runner for the heisman when he shredded his knee. He might be the only backup on a roster I would be interested in. Oh, Brohm too. I learned recently that Brohm grew up in Louisville so he never truly went away from home until he was drafted. Maybe that were some of his issues in Green Bay.

Well, I don't think we'll be able to see much of him tonight apparently, they keep handing off to keep him from making mistakes out of 3rd and long situations.

If you saw him in the preseason, he looked the same as he did in college. The Steelers are going to have to let him throw it sometime tonight though...

YES, bring Dixon in and we can just make the Panthers look like the Oregon ducks. Picture this Dennis Dixon playing Quarterback with Jonathan Stewart in the backfield, Dante Rosario catching balls from Dennis Dixon, Geoff Schwartz blocking for Dixon and Stewart. I can see it now the OREGON CONNECTION, and when Dixon is out Feeley is in.

QB- Dennis Dixon

QB- A.J. Feeley

RB- Jonathan Stewart

TE- Dante Rosario

OT- Geoff Schwartz

I LIKE IT!!!

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
