I Want to See Steve Smith Succeed... On a Different Team

I have been a panther fan as long as the franchise has been around. However, right now, I am a Steve Smith fan first and foremost.

I can't stand to see a wide receiver who could have a hall of fame career be squandered year after year by the Panthers. I would love to see Steve Smith be traded to a team like New Orleans or The Colts so he could be a part of a productive passing game.

The Bottom Line: STEVE SMITH WOULD BE MUCH BETTER ON ANOTHER TEAM

Steve Smith could be a hall-of-famer on another team. Too bad his career has to be with us.

I want to see Steve Smith succeed in Carolina. We drafted him, he was here the 1-15 year, he was here the Super Bowl year, he's been here ever since. He should retire a Panther. End of story. We're gonna work it out!!!!!!!

Smith sells jerseys, puts people in the seats and is the face of the franchise. I hope we can get a good QB while Smith is still good.(and he is).

Go away and don't come back next year please.....anyone who says they want one of the biggest play makers in the NFL traded off their team is fracken crazy.

I just don't think we can get it turned around next year with no salary cap. I am afraid he will get bought by the Cowboys. That would be awful.

Explain to me how the Cowboys are going to buy Smitty when he is under contract with the Carolina Panthers for the 2010-2011 season. Smith isn't going anywhere but you sure as hell can.

    • I mean, he's a professional athlete.  What you think as a fan vs what he should think as a player are completely different.  Being bad doesn't mean you should lack confidence in yourself, and really that is true in all forms of life.  Do everything you want to do with confidence. Justin Fields sucks, but does he ever play like someone who doesn't believe in his own abilities?   Obviously you need more than confidence to be a high-level NFL player, and Bryce will never be that.  But he could still create 2-3 extra plays a game if he allowed himself to play more "free" like he did in the second half of last season.  The fact he refuses to use his legs to pick up yards nowadays hurts this team.  Simple things like that would go a long way for us, even if not for him.
    • I've always thought it odd that the QB is the only guy in the roster who carries a record. If a RB puts up 1200 yards but the team sucks then everyone still says the RB had a good year. If a QB puts up good numbers put the D is atrocious and the win loss record isn't great due to that then the narrative is that the QB can't win. Now that we're finding a way to win with suddenly dominant D and dominate running game people are trying to shift to this "Bryce is just a winner" narrative while he puts up bottom of the league numbers while near the top of the league in turnovers. It's just funny to watch.
