Sooo...what would our record be if Moore started after week 1?

It's not Moore's fault. We're saddled with Davidson as the OC. He has a career average of 15 points when Jake isn't the starter, and he showed why again today.

Bring out the excuses, I know you're dying to. :)

Look up Jake's stats (with Deangelo Williams) against that horrible Tampa team you are talking about. Hint: Moore did much better

Moore does not look like a good QB. He looks like an average QB, which at the moment is a big upgrade.

Last years stats would disagree.

Oh, I know Delhomme has sucked this year. I think the playcalling has exacerbated that though, and it will destroy Moore if given time.

I've never seen an offensive coordinator who's done a worse job with what he's been given. I have no idea why you're in his jock so much, I just don't see it.

Matt Moore doesn't look any different than Jake to me out there. He looks like Jake when Jake's playing in safe mode. That deep ball to Smitty...I thought he was going to hit him in stride, but it was as off as one of Jake's passes. Smitty just adjusted on it.

Smitty was wide open and there was a reason he was wide open. Moore didn't stare down Smitty the entire route. When Delhomme decides to throw it to Smitty, Smitty is usually double or even triple covered b/c he can't look off the safety to save his life.

Last year Jake still had touch on his long balls. Davidson's never done a thing without Jake, Jake's done tons without Davidson.

FOX IS the weak link. May be worse than Crossman, he's that bad.

Correction since you don't realise this and like to put more of the blame on Davidson and didn't put any on Henning when there is very little difference.

Dan Henning.

That was easy, I didn't even have to think about it. :)

You are so close to getting it!

Now, what do Henning and Davidson have in common in regards to their time here in Carolina...(hint: draw play on 3rd and 15)

So your position is that Davidson is a very good OC, Moore is a decent QB, and they both would be wildly successful together if Fox wasn't holding them back.

I respectfully disagree. :)

Edit: If Fox is gone after this season, I sincerely hope to find that you are correct in your assessment. I'm not married to the guy, and if the next one does better I'll be thrilled. I just remember that the last eight years have been loads better than the previous eight.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
