NBC Sports' Peter King reported none of the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Las Vegas Raiders or the Carolina Panthers "wants to scotch-tape a veteran like 39-year-old Aaron Rodgers and probably not Derek Carr."

Except he didn't...

King said there was "a rumor (which might just be smoke)" that nobody wanted Rodgers or Carr.

Quoting it as a definitive statement is shoddy work.

Oh I agree. I just found a link that worked, but it really was a fluff article of speculation. King assumed the panthers probably wouldn’t want Carr per last month, and of course news today says otherwise, and at the least they are doing their due diligence.

    • He has attempted 8 shootout goals in his NHL career and made 1. He is among our worst SO guys on the entire roster in terms of career stats.
    • Against Miami, the Panthers were behind by 17 in the 2nd quarter facing a 4th - 5. Young completed a 21 yard pass and they went on to score 7 on that drive. Then in the 4th, down by 4, they faced a 4th - 5 and again, he completed a 17 yard pass and they went onto score a TD for the win. He also accounted for 2 of the 3 TD's.  As I said, he got them in that mess and no doubt, Rico gets credit as well, but missing on either of those 4th down conversions hands the ball over and results in 1 or 2 less TD's giving them a loss. As you said though, that's just a small quibble. The real question is how does the FO see it?  I am guessing they see it as something to build on. I think most peope here see it as a total loss and fully expect the FO to see it that way as well. Time will tell.
    • Kochetkov is just too streaky. TBD if Freddie is doing that too. Freddie is the more reliable goalie over his career. The Bussi kid looks like he could be a solid #2 eventually.  Just need to figure out the #1 guy. Same as almost every year. It's not talent, it's consistency and being able to step up in the playoffs.
