Honestly, I hope not. 

For two reasons. One while he is wowing everyone atm, it's still not even training camp. Let's let the young man learn and be a rookie for more than five minutes without piling extra responsibilities on him that aren't a requirement.

Two: seperate from Bryce as a person, imo if an NFL team is naming ANY rookie a captain, it suggests a lack of veteran leadership on the team. I think we have enough capable vets on offense (Moton, Bozeman, Hurst, Sanders, Chark, etc) without having to name a rookie captain. Sure, do fans prefer for captains to be longtime players for the team instead of FA's in their first year with the team? Probably. But so what, how much does it really matter?

If Young turns out to be anywhere near as good as we expect him to be and he looks capable of, he'll be a team captain for the next decade. I see no need to rush it.

Part of being a Captain, is having the battle experience.  

Not college battle experience. 

Not OTA battle experience,

Actual NFL Regular season battle experience.  

I realize it's  a players vote, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him voted, but he honestly shouldn't.

      They are 1 game behind .500 so I completely think they still feel confident at this point. Just look what 1 game vs Atlanta did lol. That's also why cleaning house would be a mercy at this point. I would put $5 down that they have been talking playoffs after the last game with phrases like 'turned a corner' and 'finally see daylight'. Throw in DC too with how he called that game

      Yes I don't care that he has Bryce you devise a gameplan to disguise your weaknesses like good coaches do. He made a bottom 10 49ers defense look all world because he's stubborn and refuses to lean on the run game which is the strongest aspect of our offense.  49ers are the worst rushing team this season but every game they continuing lean in in the run because it sets up the pass in Shanahan's offense he's a great coach.  If we switch coaches the Panthers would have dominated the 49ers, coaching matters in this league, plus I dont think Shanahan would have Bryce Young as his Qb, he sat Trey Lance down and 49ers gave up just as much draft capital for him.

      I’ve said it before, but I wish I had just one person at some point in my life that believed in  me with such unfounded conviction and were willing to put all of their assets and resources behind me in that belief the way this entire organization has with Bryce.  One fuging person.  And this dude has fooled an entire organization.  It is maddening.  And the thing is, for anyone else, even other NFL QBs, decision makers would have bailed, at minimum, after that 2nd year, many after the first 1-1.5 seasons.
