Heard some analyst say to expect Burns sacks to take a dive. Evero likes to send his best pass rusher up to draw double teams so the rest of the team can do there job easier. Hope this isn't true but whatever works. Who knows maybe we are playing 3D chess with his contract knowing he won't put up numbers

That one. Is hard to comprehend. The opponent is going to double team the threats. What does "send up" mean?

Either way I'm not concerned with Brian Burns individual stats.

Meaning that Evero likes to rush just four players so opposing offensive lines can key their double teams on the best pass rusher for the defense. In our case, it'll be Brian Burns.

Hopefully that means that Derrick Brown or the edge rusher opposite of Burns produce more pressures and of course, sacks. Evero does like to use his ILBs when he does blitz, which Luvu and Shaq both excel at. With all of the disguised coverages giving QBs an extra tick to process things we might also start seeing more coverage sacks.

Not sure what the guy meant by sending your best to draw double teams. What does that mean? Rushing one? Dude was very knowledgeable, that's what scared me.

    • Been here a while but rarely post and most of them are smartazz. Mostly lurk just so I can sound informed while hanging out drinking beer in my neighbors garage. Amusingly a Huddle level of knowledge kind of makes you a subject matter expert. Thanks for that.
    • That’s similar as saying MVP Cam is the same as rookie Cam because his mechanics didn’t change. We’re talking about production.
    • In 2025 Sam Darnold had over 1k more passing yards than Bryce Young on 1 less pass attempt. Repeat that to yourself several times and let it sink in. I absolutely love it when people come on here and invoke Sam Darnold like some gotcha. Darnold is the physical prototype for what anyone needs in a franchise QB. All the physical tools. Few people thought he would put it all together on the mental side of the position. He used to make some of the worst decisions you would ever see. At times in the past he made up for that with absurd throws and athleticism. But make no mistake whatsoever no matter how you feel about our starting QB. Bryce Young is a completely opposite conundrum. He lacks virtually any and all physical tools and athleticism and his elite processing is really mediocre at best on a good day and horrific on a bad day. These are realities people should have already been addressing instead of quadrupling down in year four.
