Brayton says he'd be heartbroken if Panthers don't re-sign him next year

I liked that quote too. Buuuuuut I wouldn't mind if he had a brief non-Christian moment and cracked Jerramy Stevens in the nuts again.

And yes, absolutely we should keep him. Funny how many posts when he first got here knocked him as a Raiders castoff.

I like the quote too.thats the type of guy I want in the locker room.

Acutually no he is not..

Take a look next game and focus on the ends as they run around the end on both sides with ease. Peppers looks flashier because he recovers faster and makes plays from one side to the other. But what we are talking about is who holds the edge better and defends the run. And Peppers never seems to stay at home either running around the edge or crashing inside. It is hard to make a comparison since we are ranked 29th in defending the run based on adjusted line yards using this site:

Actually I think he would be decent as a 3-4 DE. Alot of the time last year he played in more of a 2 gap scheme with Kemo shading toward the center. He can also play inside on passing downs similar to a DT in our 4-3 taking on double teams which is similar to a DE in a 3-4. I like him as a DE in a 4-3 best, but he could play a 3-4 scheme better than the majority of our other DEs outside of Peppers. He would have to put on 10-20 lbs of muscle but he has the body type to do that if speed were not as much an issue as it is in Meek's scheme.

he actually played 3-4 DE and wasn't a fit. 4-3 end, no matter which way you throw it, is going to have contain unless the LB is outside him on the line, which will be completely different from 3-4 end. Same as 4-3 DT on passing downs - which is about first step, penetration - is completely different from 3-4 end. I mean, if we go 3-4 and he's here, he'd be there, but it'd be a bad fit in the same way Damione Lewis would be a bad fit.

A DE runs outside to bring the run back inside for the Linebackers or DTs. If the OLB wants the DE to crash inside, he'll tap the DE on his waist. When you see Peppers running outside, he's opening things up for Davis to contain the run on the inside or have a shorter line to the QB. When Peppers is crashing inside, he's taking the OT with him so that Davis can go around the outside. It's not a coincidence Davis was having his best season this year. Most of Davis' success this year can be attributed to Peppers.

:frown2:..Peppers is better than Brayton in run defense

Why is that so hard for people to get.

well you both are wrong on different days.....

It all comes down to what "mood" peppers is in. If hes not on the rag and wants to play hard and focus on thee run, hes better that day. Its hit and miss, cause hes a enigma.

Brayton on the other hand gives his all and is constantly good against the run. so you both are right as well......

Many players said similar things, then............The Panthers offer a fair deal 3 years 9.5 mill(guessing) and team X offers 4 years 18 mill. Suddenly hes not so heartbroken about leaving.
