The Jets vs. Bucs Sunday...

Starting for the Jets at QB is Kellen Clemens. He's had a very short career with limited opportunities and very mixed results. Many feel that he will be the top-ranked, most sought after QB to hit the FA market after this season. He is young and has a lot of upside, after all. And he never had a running game in NY, well, until this game maybe (Jones is running well). I still think we have a better shot at bringing in Kyle Boller next year if Fox is still the coach, but if not, Clemens is a good bet. Of course, a lot of this might change depending on the play of Moore from here on out.

Anyways, I apologize for adding to the absurd number of QB threads.

I rather have erik anige

I don't want to sound like a homer here, but I actually do think he could be a decent starter in the league one day. He's no HOFer, but I really think he could manage an offense with the proper tools.

Still, I don't think either of those guys are the man to come in and save the day for Carolina.

We don't need anyone to save the day, we just need someone who won't ruin it!

i'd encourage all of you to stab at your eyes with whatever is handy rather than watch jets vs. bucs. This would also be an acceptable response to the signing of kyle boller.

Trust me, clemens is nothing remarkable to watch and watching him against the bucs is a poor gauge of talent anyway. He'll throw 15 passes on sunday.

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
