Wes Welker....

leaving him open or with a cushion is one of the DUMBEST things i have ever seen.

that was pretty basic stuff right there. brady is going to throw to welker more than anyone. understand that before you come into a game. meeks can go out the door with fox after that crap.

welker can do enough damage when you have someone covering him all day. letting him be free on the field is just asking for a beating.

Fox's fault...numerous times Welker was NOT covered at the line of scrimmage and when that happens he does his thing up the middle. Pretty stupid if you ask me. All someone had to do, in most cases, was jam him once and he would'a been outta rhythm for that play. But No, he was left to wander the vast, barren wasteland that was the open middle of our secondary. I mean, really!!!! That is Welkers specialty!

It's hard to jam a guy when he either lines up in the slot and/or a yard or two behind the LOS, or goes in motion. The only sure way you shut down Wes Welker, is to get quick pressure on Tom Brady, which didn't happen all day.

Because of Holding.......

Welker was not even in motion for quite a few and there was still nobody anywhere near him. Even Goose and Moose were talking about that.

    • Nina King continues to run circles around the rest of college basketball. She's been ahead of the curve on everything, and is the biggest reason for Duke's success post-K IMO. I think Scheyer is great at many things, but Duke went into the NIL era 100% ready whereas everyone else was playing catchup.
    • Happy they won convincingly instead of letting them hang around. Montreal is cooked, and rather than play hockey, they've decided to take some really cheap shots at guys. I get a player may feel a need to set the tone, and I understand how that works. But to 2-hand cross check someone intentionally in the face, to have a guy down on the ice and put his head into the ice with a stick, to just start punching anyone who gets within arm's reach- that's not setting the tone. That is nothing short of playing dirty.  That said, the Canes.... oh boy. They could have run this score to 6-0 with half a power play. It's embarrassing how bad the PP is. If the Canes go to the Cup finals against a team who scores at least 1 goal per game on the PP, they'll lose the close games because of the lack of results on the PP.
    • Because he knows they are winning the cup. And I fully support his decision.
