Bump this thread when Miles Sanders is the main reason for winning

People are still depending on a RB to deliver us wins? Will they never learn? RB is an after thought in todays NFL.

We had arguably the best RB in the league for a couple season and averaged 5 wins a year. RBs do not win games anymore. The OL has more to do with their success than the actual RB.

As long as the RB can catch an occasional pass and not fumble a ton hes good enough.

People forget his ability to catch passes when he was a prospect coming in.

They forget because Sanders hasn’t been good in that role over the last 3 seasons.  Frankly bad in 2 of the last 3 seasons.

Proven pros don’t play in the preseason exactly so that they stay healthy.

Miles Sanders has had one good year as a rusher behind the best OL in the league….while being graded the worst receiving RB in all the NFL at the same time by PFF.

he could of used reps.  And he could have used them in our new offense.

When you play with a rushing QB running backs pass catching goes down alot

The grading of his game as a receiver is about the work he gets.   You can grade high with low volume.  He graded dead last in all the NFL amongest RBs.

He also graded out really poorly with Wentz in 2020.

He has the talent.  Hope he does well.  But people are saying he is good at something he hasn’t shown to be the last 3 years.  And it was talked about in Philly coverage.  Routes, hands, reliability.  And even if you hate PFF, they never get it THAT wrong IMO.  That the league worst is actually really good in their grading system.

And I wish we added someone that was proven in that niche.  All I care about is aiding Young.

True but RB is a necessity still in the modern game. If you have a guy who cant find holes, change direction fast or hot the hole quickly and your run game sucks the other team will prep for the pass only all day and be ready to shut it down. While maybe not valued as much, they are still very important and you need some decent ones. Outside of Sanders I worry for depth in that area.

    • The #Panthers explored the possibility of adding Jaire Alexander, but there was never an offer made, a league source told @theobserver.   https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1935436577649401872?s=46
    • Yes I agree, the future RT could easily be christ. When he shocking re-signed here for the cheap, he said part of the reason was the OL coaching staff.  I've already thought too much about 2026. The RT has all the options, including resigning Motown. I was never a big fan, but he's solid and peptides and stem cells can fix a gippy knee. If he makes it though this year and wants to return, why not for 2 years 16 million?? Or like you said give the job to Christ or draft your RT...... that I feel is the best current method. With both OGs in the 20 million per cap range and Icky......ooooooooooo boy he could be the first 30 million per OLmen in NFL history. That's a huge portion of cap space for the OL, which I agree with, but in order to offset those 20 and 30 million deals... you need cheap rookie contracts. (unless Motown would take a huge pay cut and whoever the C will be).  This is the deepest OL I can recall in Panthers history.  I believe Morgan should try and trade either Kingston or Zavala.  I didn't even talk about Yosh, Tarquin, or Walton. Yosh is same age as christ and why not him as RT after good swing tackle years? Tarquin is a UDFA on the prayer program, 150,000 in guarantees and why not him in 2026? Walton seems to be a OL coach favorite, he followed the Tampa Bay staff here after 2 years there and add in one year here, he's stuck around for some reason. I think they need to spend very light on RT and Panthers have lots of options, I love it.
    • That better not be the case. They need to be ready week 1. The easiest part if their schedule is the first few fames
