No more in season trades at this point. Polish the turd we currently have and quit trying to add more corn kernels to it.

Just fuging draft some actually talented WR's in an offseason for fug's sake.

Terrace Marshall Jr and Jonathan Mingo are *extremely* talented WR’s and are coming from elite WR college programs.

They just need to perform.

TMJ is a flat out bust, IMO.

Mingo I still have some hopes for.

Being successful at WR in the NFL is about the ability to get separation. There are multiple ways to skin that cat but the bottom line is we don't really have any of those guys on the team other than Chark. That is a big problem. That also means the FO is not evaluating that position well at all.

Ole Miss an elite WR program?

AJ Brown and DK Metcalf are pretty damn good. That’s who Johnathan Mingo practiced with every day.  Ole Miss certainly has been doing well with WR’s lately.

And my quote also included LSU (you left that out) which is arguably the best program for receivers the past decade.  Terrace Marshall Jr played with some greats and I personally think he’ll develop into a good pro.

I don't disagree but if you can't get separation then it will never matter if you can or can't.

Hence why I made that statement. You need to be able to get separation to be an effective weapon in the current NFL.

Understood though it isn't always on the player. Sometimes it's scheme (like with Joe Brady) other times it can even be the quarterback.

Mind you, I wouldn't put it on Young for us, but I'm sure you remember how Michael Vick's Falcon receivers were terrible...until someone else started throwing them the ball.

I don't think it's an accident that the only player we had getting open with any sort of consistency in Game 1 was Theilen.

We have 16 games left so I hope they can prove me wrong but right now this WR corps probably strikes fear in basically no NFL defense.

Well, given the other choices were a rookie and a guy who's still a question mark... 😕

Maybe Chark makes a difference.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
