Beason to put on a clinic Sunday...

Damn so the Saints are sitting out their starters?

Dammit. Now you know they are all just going to say that's why we beat them. It will still be fun to see our defense man handle the second string unit.

Personally I think they are sitting Brees & co. not to prevent injuries but so that he isn't mentally scared when we thoroughly kick their ass...

Payton said early in the week that regardless if the Vikings lost he wasn't going to rest and would play his guys just like he does every week. I don't know if he will.....but tha is what he said.

Kind of hard to rest guys if you are the Saints since they have sucked so bad recently.

not that I really care how the Saints finish this year, but Sean Payton should start every single healthy guy he has. If he is lucky, the Panthers will come out playing like they have for the past few weeks. The Saints need some serious adjustments and beating a team which is playing at the level Carolina is right now will definitely help their chances.

you guys are pretty funny....look we played our WORST game of the year against Dallas and they played their BEST game of the year and we were still in it. We have not been blown out like the several times that you have. We lost by 1 TD and once in OT. Yeah, if that is our worst, we can work with it. As far as being "mentally scared"; are you f'in kidding me? We devoured teams that rammed it to you. I'd be more worried about players who pop off about other teams after you LOSE (see Moss).

Sweet momentum you guys got going into the playoffs. Def the mark of a true champion is losing AT HOME to a two win (now 3 win thanks to that valiant effort last week.)

If that makes you feel good then well, good luck with that.

LOL. We, now it's "we". What team were you claiming "we" for last season?

Screw you guys, I hope WE beat the dog sh*t out of the Taints Sunday and send them to the playoffs limping like a whipped dog. Seeing Sean Payton pucker his lips after an "L" in Charlotte and an "L" in the first playoff game would make my year.

For the record, Beason is SO much better than Vilma. Vilma received the pitty vote because NO finally has a decent defense. Beason planting Bush on his back would also make my year.

what does Jake have to do w/ anything???

you can't find a team in the NFL that has played better than Carolina the last 4 weeks under Moore when looking at wins and competition. Plus, back when we had Jake the Saints got lucky to squeak out that first win in Payton's history in NO against Carolina.

This Sunday= Matt Moore +foot + Saints + curb...and that can only mean a curbstomping.

I'm not putting the Panthers on the same level as the Saints. All I said was that they need to get their act together. There is no doubt that they are a great team, but let's face it. They just lost to the Bucs. Something about that does not scream greatness to me.

Now if the panthers play like they did the last couple weeks and the Saints can do what they've done all season, then they are back on track and most likely my favorite for the Super Bowl.

    • Saints trade WR Shaheed to Seahawks Seahawks get: WR Rashid Shaheed Saints get: 2026 fourth-round pick, 2026 fifth-round pick Seahawks' grade: A- Saints' grade: B+ One of the NFL's hottest passing teams just got better. The Seahawks currently rank third in EPA per dropback (0.25) and first in success rate on dropbacks (53%). And now they are adding Shaheed in a move that makes sense both on the field and in terms of where the Seahawks are as a franchise. Shaheed, 27, is averaging 1.8 yards per route run this season. But I think that sells him short because that number is down a bit from his career average entering this year (2.0) and he's been playing a role that includes running fewer vertical routes (34%) compared to last year (44%). Shaheed also has consistently posted above-average open scores in ESPN's receiver score metrics, including a 63 this season that ranks 28th among wide receivers. As a complement to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, I expect Shaheed will run downfield more often and be a bigger threat in that role than rookie Tory Horton was. When Cooper Kupp returns, he and Shaheed will make for a nice pair of secondary threats behind one of the best receivers in the league in Smith-Njigba. This is the time to strike for the Seahawks. FPI gives Seattle an 84% chance to make the playoffs and a 5% shot at winning the Super Bowl. This addition helps boost their chances without mortgaging their future the way the Colts did in the Sauce Gardner trade. Shaheed is a pending free agent but given the leverage of the moment for the Seahawks and their need I think they ought to be plenty willing to pay the cost. Shaheed is young enough to where if Seattle doesn't retain him he should sign a free agent contract that would yield Seattle a compensatory pick -- if the Seahawks don't nullify that pick with signings of their own. Because the Seahawks currently have $79 million in cap space next year, per OverTheCap, getting that compensatory pick is not guaranteed. The Saints are not rolling in cap space the way the Seahawks are -- and thus would land a compensatory pick for Shaheed -- but they got more draft capital this way than they otherwise would have. Considering New Orleans' 1-8 record, this should have been an easy decision.
