Panthers bitten repeatedly by injury bug

As of December 18:

"The Saints, who released McAlister last week and list McKenzie as a backup, have 13 players on IR. That's tied with the Detroit Lions for second-most in the league after the Buffalo Bills' 16. That they have thrived despite such a busy training room is another component of a spectacular season. New Orleans aims for its 14th victory Saturday night against the Dallas Cowboys."

We were playing like crap long before the major injuries hit (except for Kemo). The injuries to Davis, Gross, Otah, etc.. did not help, but they are not an excuse for this season's results.

this. after we handed over the game to saints first go round, season officially ended.

    • The aversion to tying up too much money in the ground game when it’s what’s winning us games is crazy to me. I get letting Rico walk if you think he’s easily replaceable but I don’t see many people arguing that, just applying an arbitrary salary cap based on what we think RBs are currently worth. I’d rather be stuck with Hubbard as an overpaid backup (not the worst one to have, mind you) than lose out on the most productive player on the offense personally.
    • Why do people keep saying things like “it’s not Young’s fault we spent so much to draft him”? Who cares if it’s his fault?  Nobody is saying send him to jail or anything.  People aren’t talking about blame for the decision to draft him, they’re talking about how bad he is as a QB and how we’d be much better with even an average QB.  Pointing out that we sunk a lot of resources into drafting him isn’t invalidated because he didn’t make that decision himself. Doesn’t matter whose fault that was, he’s still not playing like a QB who was drafted at all, much less one that cost two firsts, two seconds and a #1 WR.
