If we let Fox walk and Cowher decides NOT to come....

He's way too excited, like my beagle. Anyone want a beagle? Annoying little creature.

You're right, I am excited! Excited about the possibilities that this train wreck could finally be over! I have waited out the Delhomme years in silence while it was obvious from the very beginning he has never been more than a career back up! I have waited out the Fox years where we win one season on a soft schedule get everyone hyped and excited just to lay an egg the next...with the very same starters!

So yes I'm excited, I'm sorry that some fans that have posted here in support of Fox / Delhomme are getting butt hurt over the joys of what might be! If you would just take the blinders off and look at this team statistically you too would be very excited that we have a chance for change! The nay sayers are right, it could be a lot worse, but it could be a lot better also. Without trying, we will never know anything more than we know now!

TLDR; Don't hate, appreciate!

BTW, Although the Beagle is annoying you had to love him to buy!

Btw, just for the record, to anyone who thinks that thinks that if the Panthers promote from within will result in becoming John Fox light really need to understand that not every coach shares the same philosophies as Fox does and while some of the principles will remain intact, Davidson, Meeks, or Skipper could do some things their way which could lead to better things for the team. Remember, Fox has about 85% control of the playcalling.

I agree that Cowher isn't much different from Fox and that he's not a coaching god that will immediately lead us to multiple Super Bowls. However, his teams were much more consistent and made the playoffs much more often than Fox's teams. If Cowher kept our coordinators in place and kept our defense a 4-3 I'd be ok with him coming in.

For the record, I'd rather have Meeks, Davidson or Skip promoted. This team doesn't need to rebuild, clean house or radically change. It just needs a fresh voice at the top. I'd rather have someone from within the club take over, keep everything generally the same, and make the necessary adjustments. This team doesn't need a massive overhaul, just a few changes and upgrades.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Why would we just let Fox "walk" when we have him under contract and could demand compensation for him?

But let's say Fox did walk and Cowher was unavailable - it wouldn't be the end of the world - Cowher is not the only person in the world that can coach. Personally, I'd rather go after someone young and hungry.
