So Cris Collinsworth was just on Philly sports radio and said that there are teams out there that would give two first round picks to the Eagles for McNabb. (Specifically he mentioned Buffalo)

The interview was about 15 minutes ago but it took me that long to get off the floor from laughing so hard to post this

So can the Panthers match that?

:nono: Your boy, McRibb, ain't going nowhere although the Iggles fans around me want him gone.

We have a second round pick but I think I will hold on to it. We have one 30-something year old QB on the roster and that's enough.

Keep him ....you guys seriously need a running game cause Westbrook is beat up every year. He needs help or needs to retire! He can't keep taking the pummelling by himself.

Eagles have 2 nice weapons in Weaver and McCoy in the running game. We don't have a running game because Andy don't believe in a running game, not because of a lack of talent. The short passing game is the running game.

And as far as McNabb goes, I don't mind if they keep him, I don't mind if they trade him. I just don't see McNabb willing to play this year with a lame duck contract at his age. I think they wold have to extend him, or trade him. Might be a amicable divorce of sorts. Both McNabb and Kolb's contracts are up next year which makes for an interesting off season (including what they do with Vick) and the fact that we are about to have a new GM that has no football background and is an accountant. Nothing that happens will surprise me, including if nothing major happens at all.

Weaver looks good when I have seen him play but you're right....I don't think Reid is going to change his offensive philosophy so you might see more of the same burnouts at the end of the season until he recognizes the running game is a vital element in his offensive artillery. He's got the tools....he needs to wear out opposing defenses with more body blows earlier in the games...but he's like 95% of the coaches in the league who want a sexy, high scoring passing offense.

Nobody's going to take him in a trade with one year left on his contract. Why not just cut him, swallowing the dead money in the upcoming capless year would be OK then you could move on after resigning Kolb. Everybody gets what they want. Except you, you get the hose again.

What to do with Donovan McNabb might be the biggest question facing the Eagles, but it's certainly not the only one.

Quarterback

Don't take Andy Reid at face value when he says McNabb will return. There's a reason McNabb is not signed beyond 2010. He wants his deal extended. The Eagles have shown no inclination to do so. That difference of opinion could be what ultimately convinces the Eagles to entertain trade offers. The prediction here is that they ship both McNabb and Michael Vick for picks, give Kevin Kolb the starting job, sign an A.J. Feeley-esque veteran to be No. 2 and draft a kid to be No. 3.

Who's Back: Kolb

Someone asked if this involved Favre how would they feel about that? I say the same thing. As Favre ages, he becomes a bigger risk. He's 40 now. He has avoided significant injury, and I think the law of averages will ALWAYS catch up if someone plays long enough. Favre is showing something that the Packers appeared to be aware of, he's become a 12 game player in a 16 game season. Now, the 2 week layoff may help him, but he has shown that his performance falls off as the season heads into December the last few years. If you bring in favre, you may be better off starting him in the first week of October, not September.
