Spider man Scrapped

I'd rather see some classic Spidey villains hit the screen, like Mysterio or The Lizard. I could name at least 10 villains that deserve screen time over those two fly by night gimmick chumps, Venom and Carnage.

Green Goblin deserves a reboot after the way they fuged his character up with that retarded mask.

Then there's Hobgoblin, Electro, Scorpion, Vulture, Rhino, Chameleon, Shocker, Molten Man...

Hell, if comic flicks weren't so dead set on killing the villains like a good hollywood blockbuster so everyone goes home feeling all warm and fuzzy, we could have some Sinister Six fun...oh well. Spidey vs Doc Oc, Sandman, The Lizard, Vulture, Green Goblin, and Electro @ once after they had all been introduced to the franchise in theaters could have been...epic.

I thought Toby did just fine capturing wat made Peter Parker/Spider-man appeal to a bunch of insecure teenage dorks.

The 3rd movie sucked bawwwwwwwwlz.

Sony confirms Marc Webb to direct the new 'Spider-Man'

It's official. (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb just landed the Spider-Man gig. He's been a favorite of Sony for some time and most recently auditioned for the Moneyball gig that ultimately went to Bennett Miller. It will be interesting to see what Webb, who comes from the world of music videos, does with the revamped Spider-Man. And more importantly, who will he and Sony cast as the new Peter Parker? »

As reported by Hollywood reporter. Link

The plan for the movie is to be in the $80 million range and feature a cast of relative unknowns (so you can quash those Rob Pattinson or Gordon-Levitt rumors at this point). And the story will be pared down to center on a high school kid who is dealing with the knowledge that his uncle died even though the teen had the power to stop it."

According to the report the new movie will be based off of the Ultimate Spider-man Comics and will focus less on villain fighting and more on his problems with High school.

Webb is friends with Gordon-Levitt and directed him in 500 Days of Summer. if anything this strengthens the rumor.

though it's not really a rumor, it's just a bunch of people who think he would be good for the role.

I believe the main reason they were saying that is because of the budget for the film. The first Spiderman movie was around 140 million - 8 years ago.

    • I see the logic in what you're saying, but I'd also say there were games with a bit more talent on the roster that some of the L's are actually W's.  AZ - We don't get off to a crappy start and if this game is later in the season when Bryce is a bit more comfortable, I think we beat the Cards NO - At least one of, if not both of these games would've gone our way SF - Perfect opportunity to snag a win on the road that Purdy handed to us, but we couldn't do anything offensively TB - Final game was winnable in Tampa  All this to say, I think 8 wins is about where we were at in 2025 if you take the games we barely won and combined them against the games that we barely lost.  Add 5-6 new pieces in FA and the draft. We went head to head and almost beat the Rams in a meaningful playoff game that gave a lot of the youth that experience to take into 2026 and beyond, and I do think 10-11 wins is achievable next year.  Not guaranteed, but much the way folks thought we could get to 8 or 9 wins this year as the ceiling, I think 10-11 is the new ceiling for next year.
    • Milano at LB.  We just have Jags at the position. Can still draft an LB. Likely has to be in consideration at TE. Sanders hurt. TT FA. Doubs, Alec Pierce, Shaheed. All three could really help this offense in totally different ways. Doubs feels the most redundant of the group but he is also the most polished and talented wr. Be done w XL.  I still argue that Bryce needs an elite, Houston-type, defense in order to succeed here. I would legitimately find out the asking price to both Myles Garrett and Vita Vea. Cleveland is transitioning and will have a new coach. Vea is in last year of contract.  Assemble the best dline in football. Bring in Milano to fix ILB. Corners are good. Safety’s aren’t terrible and Ransom looks promising.  You’d have a 3 year window or so.   Biggest issue w any plan is going to be LT. Idk what the fix is there.
