Your hopes for offseason?

Looks like Peppers is really gone this time. I wish we could/can lock him up with a long term deal or at least let us trade him for someone/picks.

I love our Oline, LB, and DB.

QB

1. I really like Brodie Croyle with the Chiefs. He plays hard - and we could get him.

2. Quinn or Anderson - We know Anderson can produce, just that crappy line Cleveland has.

3. Re-sign Moore.

DL

1. Dumervil from the Broncos. Huge pass rusher.

WR

1. Steve Breaston...3rd guy out in Arizona would be great fit here.

2. TO...I wavered on this - not sure we need the drama..but I think he still has some gas.

Only other spot id like is punt/kick returner. Be nice to see this position become one of our strengths again.

I would actually not mind seeing another corner brought in through the draft even though the secondary is in good shape. I'd like to see goodson moved to WR and then use the second rounder on another one...Shipley would be ideal. We need a DE but they don't have to be a super star, just someone who can be effective. I agree that the OL, LB, and also the running backs and tight ends are all in good shape. Finally, add a DT, QB, and some general depth through the draft and free agency.

The priority to me is improving the WR corps and giving Moore the best possible weapons...and that doesn't include getting rid of Jarrett.

Anderson was a one hit wonder and Quinn just doesn't impress me that much. Moore is probably better than both of them. B. Croyle is probably further behind than Moore is so no way.

Dumervil would be interesting. But I think with the players we traded for and on IR will be more than enough of what we need.

We don't need to go and get a DE cause we did that with Brown. He will worth the #1 we game up for him. Watch and See.

If we are going to save money on Peppers we can afford a top end WR to go with Smitty. If we got a top end WR and Shipley we would have an awesome WR corps. Breaston would be a great pick up but Arizona is NOT going to let him go.

The Cornerback Idea is great. Just like we did with Marshall. Groom them to start in a year or two.

Go Panthers

Even if Peppers is gone I think we have enough depth at DE, we will not need to get someone, Johnson I think can come in a play good if given the chance to start, and we also have Brayton that was a starter this year, and continue to give brown some reps... subbing in. There is also Hilee Taylor who has great speed for a DE although is undersized... but he could do for now I think. As for DT I think we are good there, alot of guys will be back off the IR and I'd like to see how that works out this year. With the CB position, I dont know if they plan on keeping Martin at Saftey or not but if they decide to start Godfrey then they should let him play the CB postion that guy was great last year when he came in, and I think deserves the starting spot and Godfrey be his backup, and if they went that route then yes get a CB in here. Add depth at QB but keep Moore, and possibly McCown. Then the number one offseason issure is to get a number 1 reciever in here and let Smith play the slot like he wants. I would really like to keep moose for comfort of depth at WR and after the last game I would like to see what Jarrett could do with a quarter back that can get the ball down the field and isnt constantly locked on the number 1 reciever.

Resign Peppers if possible. If not, then oh well.

Yes, keep Jarrett. Put him in a position where he has to produce, like we did in Week 17. He will at the very least be a good temporary fix. I agree with getting Shipley. I also like the sound of Breaston, if possible. Definitely grab someone good in Free Agency.

At QB, draft someone, and resign Moore long-term. I doubt Jake is going anywhere, seeing as he's married into the Richardson Family (Married one of the man's nieces, or something like that). He's fine as a backup.

I'd say DB is good how it is. Draft a Safety and a Corner.

Keep Beason, Davis, Anderson, and Connor. Draft a LB and grab one in Free Agency.

Keep the O-Line how it is.

Draft a DT. Sign Hollis Thomas for at least another season if possible.

TE is solid.

RB is solid. I agree with moving Goodson over to WR and giving that a try.

START MATT MOORE AND SHERROD MARTIN!!!!!

GO PANTHERS!!!

As a DE Johnson is great at showing his potential but he misses like 5 sacks a season. It's so annoying, he shows the ability of the star when getting to the QB then becomes clusmy as an ox once he gets there.

Taylor is an experiment, we always draft these boom or bust guys in the 7th round. Some work out some don't. Jovan Haye, McClover, and Taylor. All pure potential, we're just seeing who sticks. I don't think Taylor will stick but he does look ok at times during preseason.

Brayton is a good player for us and should stay.

But we definatley need a star at DE. We said we'd be ok when moose left, when jenkins left, and we wern't. Peppers is irreplaceable, even if he disapeers half the time, we absolutley depend on those beastly games of his. He's an absolute game changer.

We also need help at DT, we wern't great against the run last year and had little pass rush from that position. We won't be better this year without talent. Yeah we did good the last 3-5 games but we need more help if we want to get the playoffs instead of 8-8.

Qb - Tender Moore with the highest, retain Jake and Cantwell

Rb - Explore DWill for an extension, retain Dwill, Stew, Sutton, Goodson

Fb - Speak to Hoov to find out his plans, retain Hoov & Fiammatta. If Hoov wants to call it a day bring in a vet

Te - Retain King (tender), Rosario & Barnidge. Alternative to let King go and draft a replacement in the golden 5th round.

Wr - Retain Smith & Jarrett, let Moose go. Pick up an experienced Wr in a similar offense and draft a slot guy early

Ot - Draft a LT late

Og - Let Vincent walk, open competition for Duke, Mack and Schwartz

C - If Mack is the leader for starting at RG draft a replacement late

De - 'Try' to sign Pep, if impossible resign Brayton. Pick up a cheap vet with a chip on his shoulder ala Brayton. Move Johnson into the starting line up

Dt - Explore releasing either Kemo or Lewis. Tender Leonard and Tyler. Draft early.

Lb - Draft a mid round physical freak, allow him to learn from Diggs. Tender Anderson.

Cb - Draft mid. Tender Marshall high.

Ss - Draft late. Retain Harris, Godfrey & Martin.

Linebacking core is still solid, but will never be surprised if they draft another.

Secondary, would love another good CB, although not going to hold my breath.

Would like them to re-sign Hollis Thomas. We have a lot of youth along the rest of the d-line. (feels weird saying that after our last pre-season).

On offense, I don't see any veteran QB that is worth trading for. I feel they should find a mid round QB even though I believe Matt Moore can be our guy.

Love our o-line, starters and depth.

Love our RB's.

We need a big bodied receiver that is capable of playing every receiver position on the field. Not just a compliment to Steve Smith, but someone that is good enough to also take over games if need be. Where we find that receiver, I don't know yet. Haven't really looked into the possibilities.

Would like to resign Moose as a 3rd receiver.

I want Peppers back long term, of course.

    • 4610 total yards 27 total touchdowns 8 yards per attempt. Completion percentage was usual Cam ie mediocre or below at best at 57.7 and 86.2 passer rating. But the man scored points and moved the ball at will often. Compared to 2652 total yards 21 total touchdowns 6.3 yards per attempt completion % 60.9 82.2 passer rating. Let's just not do things like this. We can acknowledge Bryce improved (from realistically a bottom 5 QB) and hope he can work his way within the top 15 this season without dragging Cam Newton into it and unintentionally diminishing him. That's all I got to say. Carry on.
    • I personally think you are trying to talk yourself into circles here... It's ok to say Bryce played incredible the last 5 weeks... I know there are plenty of people on this board who desperately need the doom-and-gloom narrative, but I genuinely question how much NFL QB play some of these people really have watched when they still question him being the unquestioned starter for next year...  Again, that being said, no one is crowning him at all. I think Bryce is one of the best stories going into 2025 bc his season last year was so outlandishly unprecedented. It's totally fair to personally not believe in Bryce. Plenty of sports "journalists" need to write stories, and that's an easy narrative path... But I think that actual people in the know rank Bryce much higher. That's the fun thing about sports... we shall see!
    • Regardless of how we got here, any rational fan should be excited by how well Bryce played down the stretch. Anyone not happy about that level of play either doesn't know what they're looking at, or they're still trying to drive tired narratives. Obviously, Cam had an all-time rookie season, and I'm not putting the two in the same basket yet, but as someone who has watched every snap of Panthers football since the start of the new millennium (Im old), Bryce was playing at a higher level at the end of 2024 than Cam was at the end of 2012 (his 2nd season). Cam continued to develop into MVP form, something Bryce has to prove, but as someone who watched both (and will stan for Cam always), Bryce was playing at a higher level to end year 2 than Cam did.  Go watch the film if you dont believe me. None of that means anything for the future. But the people who said BY9 couldnt play in this league are wrong.   That being said, the only thing that matters is this year. #20 is perfectly fair IMO going into the season. I mean think about it, how would you rank him??!  His in-season turnaround is one of the wildest things I've ever seen... how do you rank a guy who looked like a massive bust in September and by January was consistently playing at a top 10 level? My excitement level is pretty damn high heading into this season. There were throws from the Chiefs game onward where Bryce had Drew Brees levels of anticipation. Im excited to see what he can do with a full deck on offense, something we really never gave Cam. Really hope and expect Bryce to move up this list this season.
