Should have just paid him in the offseason before Bosa got paid. Could have had him in the 25ish million range. He's probably expecting at least 30 now.

He absolutely shouldn't be.  25 is as high as I'd feel comfortable going for his services. Parsons will command 30+, and that man faces far more double teams and puts up better numbers despite it.

By the numbers he slots about in the 25 range. Unfortunately we also turned down multitudes of big trades.

So we pretty much telegraphed how much we value him. I would be very surprised if he doesn't end up in the $29-32 mil range if Fitt sticks around.

Doesn't matter, Bosa got 34 million, cap goes up every year, we held onto him over getting picks in return, there's no way he isn't demanding 30+. He has all the leverage.

If Fitt is smart, we don't pay that. Paying that much for a sack specialist (which is all you can say of Burns' play) who has broken double digits once and maybe won't do it again this year is....fuging stupid.

    • Right and I think we can have a conversation about that. But even with the scheme he should still be able to muster more than 1.5 sacks right? I mean DJ Johnson played in Evero's scheme too but that didn't stop us from calling him a bust. Scourton didn't seem to have trouble flashing. There can be different things true at one time.
    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
