Albert Breer: both Reich and Fitterer back in ‘24

Outside of financial details I don't think there's any decision you can peg solely on Fitterer. He doesn't strike me as that type of GM.

He was spared because it was mostly on Rhule but he definitely shouldn't get a free pass on those years. Empowering him was about giving him the chance to clean up the mess he helped make. If he can't do that he's next on the chopping block.

Finances fall under Samit Suleiman.

Fitterer's experience is primarily draft related, though he was given free reign by Tepper to build the front office as he saw fit. That includes the hires of Dan Morgan, Adrian Wilson, Cole Spencer and others as well as promotions of existing people like Rob Hanrahan and departures like Pat Stewart.

Personnel decisions are, by all accounts, collaborative between front office and coaching.

More from Diana Russini...

I got the sense from her article that if anybody is in danger, it's more likely to be Frank Reich than Scott Fitterer. I get the same sense from this video clip.

At the very least she talks about ownership "having discussions". That's not Tepper talking to himself and I wouldn't bet on it being Tepper talking to Nicole either.

But could it be Tepper talking to the front office?

Yeah, I think that sounds logical.

That’s some next level everybody’s fault but Young’s narrative. Learn to accept nothing less.

Hell no they will not give up on Young after a single season. And with a year coming up soon where they forgot to trade the 1st rounder, the floor’s the limit.

OMy sources also confirm that ownership has lost their blind faith that the Super Secret Backfield Limbo-Mesh Bubble-Scream Offense is playing to Young’s strengths, as Reich had promised in the job interview. They want to see more stretching of the backfield.
