The Heart & Soul Of Carolina. EASILY our best player ever. And Ive been a fan since the day we were awarded the franchise in '93. I seen em all. This guy has carried this franchise the past decade and electrified this fanbase for years, no other Panther can say that. When I think of sports in North & South Carolina, Stevonne Latrall Smith is the face I see.

I knew everyone would say Smith, but truthfully this is a no-brainer. The Panthers have a player who has been with them since the beginning who is one of the top 10 players of all-time at his position. John Kasay won four overtime games for the Super Bowl team, kicked four field goals in the 96 team's win over Dallas, and keeps climbing the ladder of all-time scoring leaders.

So true. I didn't even think of him!

I'm new to the game, so I'm going with D-Will.

Now I'm going to duck and hide while everyone else talks smack about my pick...:leaving:

D-Lo actually is a good guy if you ever see some of his interviews. He's quiet, no big ego, nobody hates him, and you can't help but to like him. On top of all that, he's a beast on the field. So good choice.

My favorite right now, is Deangelo...we could do worse for a face of the franchise than Deangelo. He is the total opposite of Peppers, and for that, I am grateful.

I used to think a great deal of Wesley Walls. He did not always have the greatest teams to play on, but, you know, you just knew the guy was going to get a TD. I also remember having the chance when my tickets were selected for field passes to go down on the field, for the Panthers pre-game warm-ups and such, and Walls was just great to everyone. I remember the trainers saying to us of all the players on the team, Wesley was just a great guy. I know he, along with some members of the Oline were supposedly caught up in roids; but, in reality, I would suspect that to be true of many NFL players.

    • It's not sustainable,  although he deserve credit for the win also, as he made clutch plays as he does with every win we have.
    • As much as I would love to sit here and bash on Young.  I can't.   He is absolutely a part of this team winning.  He is the cool hand leading the offense along with the hammer, Rico.  He's making plays on 3rd and 4th downs, that are absolutely helping thus team win.  Is Bryce playing as well as we'd like? Nope. Although he had only 1 week off from a high ankle sprain.   No question he was 100% in the Greenbay game.  I'm not even sure where the team would find a clear upgrade over Byrce.  He is a leader.  In the 4th quarter, he has ice in his veins.  He is a part of why our team is enjoyable to watch again.  Without him, we wouldn't be winning.    Anyways.  Y'all enjoy yet another thread designed to tear down the man.
    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
