What is the minimum you would accept in a peppers trade?

We're pretty much guaranteed a 3rd next year if he walks, so anything less than a second this year or a first next year smacks of lunacy or tampering considering the $20 million+ risk Jerry and the FO takes on.

This makes a lot of sence and could be the reason why the FO doesn't even want to attempt a tag and trade. GMs generally know what they can get for a player way before a trade happens and they may know they aren't getting anthing better than a third for Peppers.

If money was not an issue I would say the hell with it and tag him again. He would then play offense, defense, special teams, be the towel boy, water boy, turf inspector, helmet washer, coin flipper, replay booth operator, and announcer. hmm - I still don't think that quite equates to 20 mil.

Johnson not only was among the team's leaders in forced fumbles but in passes defensed. He swatted away six passes, trailing only cornerback Chris Gamble (nine) even though he only started twice and missed three games to injury.

The three-year veteran Johnson had almost as many passes defensed as the rest of Carolina's defensive ends combined (seven).

I know he isn't in Peppers league but I would be excited to see him get a good bit of playing time.

    • It's not sustainable,  although he deserve credit for the win also, as he made clutch plays as he does with every win we have.
    • As much as I would love to sit here and bash on Young.  I can't.   He is absolutely a part of this team winning.  He is the cool hand leading the offense along with the hammer, Rico.  He's making plays on 3rd and 4th downs, that are absolutely helping thus team win.  Is Bryce playing as well as we'd like? Nope. Although he had only 1 week off from a high ankle sprain.   No question he was 100% in the Greenbay game.  I'm not even sure where the team would find a clear upgrade over Byrce.  He is a leader.  In the 4th quarter, he has ice in his veins.  He is a part of why our team is enjoyable to watch again.  Without him, we wouldn't be winning.    Anyways.  Y'all enjoy yet another thread designed to tear down the man.
    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
