Would you make this trade?

Not saying it's Johnson's fault. He plays for the Lions. But Marshall has been the beast that Johnson was supposed to be, stats wise.

I can't believe no one would make this trade. Steve Smith has one, maybe two more good years in him. Marshall should be a top receiver for six or seven years to come. Orton and Moore is basically trading one limited QB for another, only Orton has more experience.

I understand you, and perhaps I'm being a bit of a homer, but with the skill, heart and desire that Smitty possesses, I don't see why he can't be an impact receiver for five more years. You're talking about Steve frickin' Smith, perhaps the most explosive WR regarding YAC that you will ever witness. great WRs don't lose their skills overnight. I think he will have to be respected for at least another 3 years.

Not really a believer in Orton. I know it could be wrong, but he reminds me of

a young Jake.

Orton: 3800 yards, 21td, 12int

Stafford: 2267 yards, 13td, 20 int

Also: with that logic, Derrick Mason and about 23 other WR's are better than Smitty..

kt what you think about the thomas trade?

Another example of a front office that wants to "win at all costs" and is constantly trying to get better. Rod Higgins has done a fine job as our GM since he got here in 06. I like Thomas and I think his range and athleticism make the Bobs even better.

The Moore vs Orton thing is interesting. Moore has more upside, but he is also unproven.

Marshall just brings too much baggage and continued off the field issues. I agree that talent wise and age wise, it might be something to think about.

Due to the baggage, I would have to say NO.

What's funny is that fans of every other team in the League look at Steve Smith and think he comes with more baggage than anyone else in the League. If our team trades for TO, we get some buffoon who complains when he doesn't get the ball enough. If they trade for Steve Smith, we'll have fights in the wide receiver film room.

No. Smitty stays for as long as he can still play. I say, with the cap space left from Peppers ducking out of dodge, I'd say get a proven talent like Steve Breaston. I was campaigning for them to snag Anquan Boldin rather than tag Peppers, last offseason. That would have been domination. Smitty AND Boldin on the field AT THE SAME TIME ON THE SAME SIDE. *Fantasizes about how dominating they would be together.* Smitty in the slot like he wants, and Boldin out there snagging Moore TD's all over the damn place. OMG, tag Peppers NOW and trade him for Boldin. DO IT NOOOOOOWWWW!!!

    • TNT crew loves them some Colorado. I did hear one of them say "King" at one point, so I'm fairly sure that's who they're playing...lol
    • This is just a different type of draft. There's no top shelf compared to recent drafts. In the last ten years or so, there was a clear group. The issue with this draft is the best players are at lowered valued spots. Plus I said before Id always take the 8th best edge/de over the best safety. Panthers have always overrated LBs and RB compared to the league, but they did get safety right in terms of not valuing it. Mike Minter was about it, others die hards can bring up...  Still in order to better receive this draft, once you drop the positional value and just take the best player, its easier to understand. Very odd draft and the first time in history I can recall needing to do this. Just memeber coofus and NIL have changed the draft. There's lots more older players, cause now money to a guy that maybe 6th or maybe UD..... I mean Id take the college girls and 800k too, I think....
    • Good write up OP..... I may be the outlier here but I like our WR sans XL. Metchie is sneaky good and just like Dowdle last year he WILL BE the biggest under the radar singing of this year FA moves. I am warming up to the idea of Sadiq at 19 over defense. I'm just ready for every BY excuse to be gone, he doesn't have this or that. No he just sucks and we need to move on. Honestly I've said it before but this team has been depleted of so much talent over the years we really could go BPA and be fine. In DM I trust..........for now
