Burning my Peppers jersey at the bears game

Why would anyone burn something that costs as much as a jersey. Peppers played 8 good years here and along with Steve Smith he was one of our first "superstars". I will continue to wear my Peppers jersey with pride and remember the good times. Peppers is one of the guys that helped put the Panthers on the map.

While he was here, everyone said he took plays off, didn't always play hard. If that's true, why is everyone so upset that he's gone? I mean, if he was an on again off again type player, we should be glad he's someone else's problem, right? Why pay $14 million for a guy like that? For those who want to burn their Peppers jersey, do you really think Julius himself would give a crap? He'd just laugh at you for making morons of yourselves. Get over it, he's gone. Move on already.

it's not that he didn't do good for us, I loved watching him play but at times I thought he could try harder and it's funny cuz that was one of the big things surrounding him this year, but at the same time he was good enough to the point that we are better with him, but nobody is too good to be replaced, I wish he woulda stayed cuz I am a huge fan of talent, but it is what it is and as a fan I feel like he disrespected the Panthers as a whole organization and for that Im glad he is gone now and we can use that enormous salary to try to get some good veteran talent before it's all gone

too much crap here to read. if that statement offends you then stop posting crap.

for those keeping and/or framing your jerseys.... The fan base needs more people who realize the NFL is more of a business than a game.

for those burning...i like your passion for the team, but there really are better ways of showing it.

I am still in. Peppers wanted out of Carolina for two years and now he is trying to put the blame on the organization, come on. Peppers needs to man up and just say he was ready to move on and have a change. The Panthers offered to make him the highest paid defensive player in the league, so how in the hell can he try and blame them. For me burning my jersey brings closure and I could give a $h!t about the money because I would never wear that jersey again. He wanted to turn in his Panther's jersey so I am turning in my Peppers' jersey. Anyway is it more fun and a bigger statement to burn something then just throwing it away.:D

Disagree, but you have a right to your opinion.

Just wanted to clarify the whine and cheese thing. Our fanbase has always been considered a "Wine and Cheese" crowd which means that for the most part it consists of people who are at the game just to be out in public and could care less about the team or cheering for the most part, much like Tar Heel fans in the Dean Dome. It's a status thing, the PSL program brought a lot of this stereotype on our fanbase because the majority of the people who bought PSL, especially the expensive ones, where, shall we say, above the poverty line.

It's morphed into Whine and Cheese because we are a bunch of whiney bitches.

    • What you are saying isn't always true and I'll give you several examples to demonstrate this. 1) The best player on the board at the end of in round 1 by all consensus is RB (top 15 player in draft who slips b/c of the devaluation of the RB position). Your team is in desperate need of a LT because the current one is getting your QB killed. You already have a serviceable RB in place. The LT has a 2nd round grade and you have the first pick on day 2 of the draft Who do you choose? 2) Your run defense was abysmal the previous season. A DT in round 2 does not provide much in terms of pass rush, but most reports have him rated as the best pure run stuffing DT in the draft. The two highest rated players on your board at the time are a TE and tweener at OLB/DE who slipped into round 2 after a run on WR's. Who do you choose? 3) Your pass rush rush is solid across the board. You even have guy coming off of the bench to provide production. Your secondary in below average. No Safety on the roster is a difference maker and as a unit the squad doesn't have an INT. The highest rated player on the board is a DE. The 5th highest rated player on the board is a an intelligent ball hawking Safety. Which player would make the team immediately better?  1) I think the BPA logic applies when your team is solid across the board and you can afford to draft for depth 2) I think it also applies when your team stinks and any solid player will be an immediate upgrade over what you already have. I agree that you should NEVER reach for a player when you are need at a position like we did for Bryce Young. But I also think if there's is a player on the board that will fill a glaring weakness you need to take him even if a player with a higher over all ranking is available at another position (which isn't a need)
    • Bryce Young excels at dividing Panthers fans. That seems to be what he's best at.
    • 184 yards game, 61% completion 11 tds 5ints    thats ranks :check notes:  25th in the nfl
