Freddie Barnes just what we need..... remember I'm not saying get him with our 2nd round 3rd or 4th but in the 5th 6th or 7th its all game maybe even the 4th depending on how many wr's are ranked above him. we need blue collar wr who like to work.... now stars who are divas....... check his video.

03/17/2010 - With almost half of the National Football League franchises represented at Bowling Green State University's pro day, Freddie Barnes understood that most, if not all, eyes were on him. The NCAA's single-season receptions leader and a Biletnikoff Award finalist ran some passing routes and pulled in some passes from Tyler Sheehan in front of scouts during an hour-long workout at Doyt Perry Stadium. "Talking to some of the scouts, they said I did pretty good, but I didn't think it was one of my best showings," Barnes said of his performance. The 6-foot, 206-pound wide receiver reportedly ran the 40-yard dash in a time of 4.65, which didn't meet his expectations. Barnes, who has been critiqued by draft analysts for not possessing top-level speed, had hoped to run somewhere in the 4.5 range. "Some guys clocked me around 4.6 to mid-4.6," he said. "Last week I was running better, so I'm real disappointed with that. It is what it is. "Like I've said, I'm going to keep training and see what happens." Barnes garnered national attention last fall after catching a NCAA record 155 passes for 1,770 yards, including 19 touchdowns. Such productivity certainly played a role in attracting scouts from 14 NFL teams, which included those from Detroit, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Cleveland. Lions scout Shawn Jefferson, who worked with Sheehan and the receivers during some passing drills, liked what he saw from Barnes. "Freddie will definitely be playing on Sundays," Jefferson said. "The thing that sticks out about this kid when you watch film on him is he is fearless. IMO he looks lke a pretty solid reciever although a pretty damned slowwww one for 6' 206 lbs. He didnt participate in the combine but had a decent showing at Bowling Greens Pro day despite his slow 40 time. He would be a value pick in a late round for sure.

how? captain didnt even play offense? I see this as someone who could be a steal because the lead the nation in alot stats but didnt get alot of the fame.

I mean in the way of his intensity for the game. Also, the fact that he may not be the biggest guy out there, but he holds his own and makes people pay...

In the NFL now days you got to have that speed. Maybe waste a 7th rounder on him, I dont see this guy doing well in the NFL because of his speed.

Really? I don't remember Jerry Rice having blazing speed? He only recorded a 4.7 40 time... one of the best WRs ever

And is now almost unanimously the best WR in the NFL. Goes to show you just how little stock you can put in them. Trust what you see on film. Is he running away or beating someone who ran a 4.4?

I like Barnes as well but we don't have a 5th. I see him going in the late 3rd to late 5th range. Doubt he makes it back to us in the 6th.

      For a 3rd year QB? That flies with the Teppers and makes the HC and GM look like fools.  Their fear is evident. Their careers are tied to making it work, it's ehy they signed on here and they are professionals who knows what kind of a situation they could potentially have on their hands if they are not calculating about popping up Bryce. I call BS to that sir. It's why every QB after Bryce couldn't make any other rosters past a PS spot...at best

      Not just Dalton.   But the only real young arm they would let be seen the past 2 years was a really a bad Jack Plummer.  Who was super weak even for that tier  Can’t convince me how weak they made the atmosphere around Young hasn’t been intentional.

      Things of note: mentions he has six drops. Six. For all the people that don’t know what a drop is, he has six. That’s a long distance from the league leader at ten. (To be fair, pro football reference has him at seven, still not bad.  Plenty of others is that same range.  His drop % is 6.3, which is low.) Catchable ball success ratio: 83% which is great. Catchable being the key word.  Mentions his contested catch rate is low at 5/18 but that’ll get better I think when he can rely on muscle memory for routes, catches, etc and the game slows down for him
