The loaded gun that Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Shaun Rogers was arrested for carrying at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport on Thursday was cocked and had a bullet in the chamber, according to a police report.

Donna J. Miller of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports those details from the police report, as well as the fact that the semi-automatic handgun was on safe mode and had seven bullets in the magazine and one in the chamber.

Rogers told authorities he put the gun, a black .45 caliber Kimbra Ultra II, inside his bag during a visit to Detroit and forgot he had it there until it was seen by airport security when he put it through an X-ray machine. The police report said Rogers has a valid concealed pistol license in Michigan. He played for the Lions from 2001 to 2007.

Rogers was planning to fly to Houston with fellow Browns defensive lineman Robaire Smith.

That's how a 1911 is carried you goobers. Cocked and locked. There's no point in carrying a firearm if there isn't one in the pipe.

You should also carry it tucked in the front of your belt. Only sissies use a holster. Real men aren't afraid of shooting their balls off :sosp:

If I was going to carry a gun to an airport.......wait...I wouldn't do that. :rolleyes:

He should have gone the Michael Vick route and concealed it in a water bottle.

What the hell is a Kimbra? Do they mean a Kimber?

But it never ceases to amaze me how dumb some athletes are. And it really goes to show you that they never change. You can move a guy from place to place and hope that the "change of scenery," will do them some good, but it won't.

No matter how many times they move, how many times they spend the night in jail, how many tearful public apologies and promises to be better, the bad ones are recidivists, and should be avoided like the plague.

TO will always be a locker room cancer;

Roethlisberger will always hook up with drunk chicks;

Sharun Rogers and Plax will always carry loaded guns;

Greg Frye will always be a douchebag;

and Pac Man will do all of the above til the end of days

I see where your coming from.. however, I don't think it sounded like what Shaun Rodgers did was premeditated or him being reckless because that's his schtick..

sounds to me it was an accident.. I can see that happening.

    • This is huge may not be a trap game but this plays a major part in what they want to do. If we can get some pressure on Sam we know what he does with pressure coming hit and heavy. Also we may be able to take the top off their defense a backup safety trying to stop TMac or Cooker over the top or forcing him to play the backend should allow us to run the ball somewhat effectively. Either they allow some runs or we take some shots and if Bryce and whoever can connect deep we’ll be in business for another big time win against a top notch opponent. Might not be a trap game but health travel game plans all play a major role in each weeks game plan and this week might be leaving our way. We’re missing some replaceable pieces they’re missing key anchors to the offense and defense major difference time to solidly ourselves at one of the top teams in the nfc tomorrow fellas buckle up.
    • Yes.  If I am not mistaken, we need to sign Coker to the ERFA tender and insist that XL spends his spring and summer at a WR camp and not Coon huntin on his four wheeler.  XL was raw when we picked him--which is why I wanted to go another direction--and we are seeing how raw.  He is basically learning a position.     The Panthers will make their move in 2026 to be an NFL powerhouse behind Bryce.  Bryce needs intelligent WRs who catch the ball.  That said, we need a solid #2 to challenge XL and make cutting him easy, if necessary.  A #2 WR (intented to be a #1 by now) with under 400 yards is embarrassing.   On offense, you have to ask, "Where can we get better?"  In my view, #2 WR, TE (although they are improving) and maybe C (again, if we re-sign Mays, he is trending up and at 26, entering his prime--I say stay with him and find competition later in the draft (not good for C).  OL depth maybe?  In other words, XL is a glaring weak spot.
