Game 78: Bobcats@Hornets

The Mighty Bobcats will travel to New Orleans Arena to face Charlotte's old team, the New Orleans Hornets. The Hornets are led by superstar PG Chris Paul, all star forward David West, and veteran hackmaster James Posey. We lost at home to the Chris Paul-less Hornets earlier this year, and will look to avenge that loss tonight on their floor. We of course will need strong performances from Jax & G-Force, but our bench players like DJ, Hughes, Tyrus, & Chandler need to make solid contributions as well. A win tonight secures a winning record for the season and pushes our magic number down to 1, GO BOBCATS!!!

CHRIS PAUL IS DONE

Chris Paul will miss the rest of the year with a ligament tear in his right middle finger, but will not need surgery according to the team officials.

If somebody has dropped Darren Collison out of frustration, run to the waiver wire and grab him immediately as he's set to retake the role that he had prior to CP3's return. Paul cannot perform any basketball-related activities for seven weeks, and this caps a somewhat disappointing year for him.

    • Everyone says AT was old and slow but the one thing he could do consistently was get separation. That takes skill and it's been a huge issue in our WR for years. And while Moore may be a great locker room guy and our WR coach may be a 12 year vet, he's not playing in the game. Vets like AT do what they do because they can see things others don't and exploit it. The DB interview I mentioned before was with Stephon Gilmore after his DPOY season. He was pulling the younger DBs aside showing them things you wouldn't even think you'd be able to tell from the way the receiver was standing.  Seeing what a DB or LB is biting on in game that can give you that half step advantage is huge and we don't have that experience in our WR group right now and I think it could end up hurting us. None of our receivers have lined up against NFL corners successfully on a regular basis. Having someone that can walk over and give you a tip to get a half yard separation can be a difference maker.
    • We only fielded about 4 NFL calibre players on that unit last year.
    • only 1 QB in the history of mankind has managed a winning record with his opportunities in the David Tepper era.    Bring in PJ.   He has NFL tools.  He will at least be entertaining if called upon.  How is that not better than Andy.  *PJ Walker bandwagon is back up now that it is....not...time for for the percolator.
