Pat Yasinskas: We all know John Fox isn’t going to reveal anything about strategy before he has to, so we won’t really know until we see the Panthers in training camp. But I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Goodson get some time in the slot. I think we’re going to see more use of the slot receiver by the Carolina Panthers than we have in recent years. The Panthers are aware they need more production from receivers other than Steve Smith and using the slot guy more would be one way to achieve that.

I think this was talked about on here at least a month back?

With how well Sutton played last year I’m thinking that this is about the only way he will see the field. His speed will be hard to ignore.

Agreed, we have 3 very solid RB's so this would be a good move for Goodson. He has to be willing to put in the work to learn the position though, and he has to learn to take care of the ball.

    • I don’t want to see another high pick put into WR or offense that isn’t OL or QB. At least not again it would make something like 5 straight years, we are at 4 straight years with 1sts and 2nds used on the position now. Too much to have one player left from all that. So he gets another go at it afaic.  If they can bring in someone to compete with him that is undrafted, a FA on a prove it deal, some cheaper route, go for it.
    • Because Bryce can’t throw a true deep ball.
    • The original hope was that he was just raw, and with some coaching he could blossom into a big time playmaker. Turns out he’s not just raw, he’s got no fundamentals or mentals of any kind really. You keep him as long as he’s cheap and try your best to coach him up no matter how futile it may seem.  When the time comes you cut him loose.
