More than 10 teams have taken Dez Bryant off their boards

As former Oklahoma State receiver Dez Bryant generates an increasing amount of interest in the days leading up to the draft, a league source tells us that more than 10 teams have removed Bryant from their draft boards.

One such team, we're told, is the Seahawks. The Browns and the Jaguars reportedly have removed him from their boards, too.

Per the source, the concern is that, once he gets paid, it's unknown whether he'll show up for work on a consistent basis. Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reported several weeks ago that Bryant was late for multiple practices, and even games.

Of course, one way around this concern would be to insist upon inclusion of the same "diva clause" into Bryant's contract that the 49ers placed into receiver Michael Crabtree's deal, which hinges $15 million in escalators to participation in 90 percent of all activities, voluntary and mandatory. It would be hard for Bryant's agent to balk at such a move. After all, he's the same agent who agreed to the inclusion of that term in Crabtree's contract.

And as to those team who don't plan to consider drafting Bryant? The reality is that 31 teams can take him off their draft boards -- and he can still be a first-round pick.

As Peter King of SI.com told us tonight, Hall of Fame tackle Anthony Munoz was removed from the draft boards of more than 10 teams; 14, to be exact. And yet the knee injury that caused half the league to run in the other direction didn't keep him from becoming one of the best offensive linemen of all time

I can think of several others that are jumping for joy

probably the teams listed, saints, Colts, Jets, Giants, Titans, Eagles, and Ravens. other teams that need a WR still in the 1st round and ahead of the Panthers in the 2nd round...Broncos, Dolphins, Rams, Patriots, Bucs, and possibly Chiefs. if so, lets go BWRA(best wr available) to each of these teams before we pick.

Broncos-Dez Bryant-1st round

Rams-Golden Tate-2nd

Bucs-Demaryius Thomas

Chiefs-Arrelious Benn

Patriots-Damian Williams

that leaves us Gilyard or LaFell unless we trade up. I hope we do something like trade this years and next years 2nd rd pick to someone like the Jets(since they dont have very big needs, and could use more picks), or Pats since they like alot of 2nd rd pick, and then take Golden Tate...

I am 100% sure that Benn or Damian Williams or both will be available at #48.

he is now in the same situation as Jimmy Clausen. kind of. I think someone will trade up in the 1st to get him...cough..panthers...cough...or dallas. i have him falling to dallas in my mock now because of the Marshall trade. reason he is kind of in the same situation as Clausen is because if a certain team(Bills for Clausen, Broncos for Bryant) doest take them then they will fall to a team who is going BPA, or if someone trades up...

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
