Would you trade Williams for Big Ben?

We have multiple witnesses here. We have the prior rape case. We have him even apologizing the other day.

Come on, let's not bury our head in the sand. The dude's human filth.

i'm not well versed on this case or the other case, because quite frankly i consider the whole thing none of the public's business. gossip is wrong as far as i'm concerned. but, are you referring to the other rape case that he was also not tried for due to lack of evidence? and, the other witness being the friend of the accuser? ya, that's some solid evidence. let's lock him up. how do you know these women aren't accusing him just to get money out of him? you don't know the motive, and you don't know what happened. do you know how serious it is to say with certainty someone is a rapist, or a murderer, or whatever else? stop acting like a little child on a playground calling some kid names, and join the adult world here. if you were to say that publicly you're the one who would be locked up for slander.

He pretty much is saying it publicly.

So lemme see...you admit to not knowing much about the facts of the case, yet you call him out for his opinions (which actually have a basis in the facts of the case)?

Sheesh

There are plenty of details in the link above. Try reading those.

(or just keep throwing out your own baseless, fact-free opinions if you prefer; doesn't really matter to me)

i didn't listen to what ben said, but if he admitted it then he'd be in jail right now, so ... clearly you're over exaggerating. i'm sorry, you said he "pretty much" admitted it, whatever that means. maybe it was just a general apology for bringing all this negative media attention to the steelers franchise, and his family (if he has one which i don't know). i say i'm sorry for a lot of things that are out of my control, just because it affects others and i'm expected to say it. i'm sorry folks, i just thought you all were a little more mature than this. from a lot of the other threads i read, i thought you folks were intelligent and rational, but this whole thread is just one childish remark after another.

This from someone who says "I don't know anything about the case, but I have strong opinions anyway"

The DA's press conference essentially broke down to "he's guilty, but we're not going to court because the girl doesn't want to be ripped by his lawyers".

If Ben is really innocent, why isn't he suing that guy?

(Here's a hint: He'd actually have to prove the guy was lying about him to win, and given the details that are known, it'd most likely backfire and prove just the opposite)

Heck, even the player's union isn't trying to defend him against the likely suspension to come. When was the last time you saw that?

Face it. There's plenty of evidence that Roethlisberger is guilty, and even more evidence that as a human being he's a steaming pile of dog s--t.

But like I said, feel free to keep defending him...without bothering to look at any of the facts of the case :nonod:

(in fairness, not bothering to check the facts probably does make it easier to hold that point of view)

there aren't many celebrities who are going to sue someone for defamation if the case is about to be dropped. why would he continue the media coverage for an extra year or two? it's not like he needs the money. besides, like you said, there's a whole lack of evidence thing. lack of evidence for either side to prove themselves.

the DA, or anyone else involved in the case in a professional manner, would say something like "he's guilty, but ...". they'd lose their job the next day. you are over exaggerating everything so dang much. you don't know the woman's motives for not pursuing the case. what she said may not be the real reason. the only evidence they have, to my knowledge (feel free to correct me), is her and her friend's testimony? that would never return a guilty verdict in court. why should she pursue it? she has no case.

He's likely about to lose several paychecks to a suspension because of this case. If he's as innocent as you think, why let that happen?

By your own admission, you know less about this case than anyone in this thread. I'll invite you (again) to look at the facts in the link provided.

I doubt you'll do it, seeing as facts would only get in the way of your opinions

I would just like to say that when I voted to trade Williams for Roethlisberger, I was under the impression that Roethlisberger didn't rape the girl.

That's still possible, but these details cast him in a very negative light. If he didn't rape her, then I make the trade; if he did, no dice!

Whether or not he'd have been convicted had the case gone to trial is up for debate.

That's he's a rancid mass of hog vomit as a person actually looks to be pretty well established.

i don't even know how you know either woman even wanted to go to court. maybe they were just trying to pressure him into settling out of court in order to get the media off his back. it's happened many times before to many people.

By actually reading the news stories.

(you might try it sometime)
