Moved around a lot as a kid...ended up in Ft. Lauderdale in the late 70's and went to a Dolphins- Patriots Monday Night game. I was a dedicated fan from that point on. Charlotte is home now and the Panther's took over the minute they announced the franchise. Most Panther fans over 25 can't possibly claim that they didn't have a previous NFL favorite unless they didn't follow NFL football.

I'm only 20 and I had a previous team. Yes, I watched football with the family when I was that young.

I'm 29 and my Uncle Fred was a DT at the University of Alabama who went on to play for the Chicago Bears back in the early 80's so I was a Bears fan when I was a kid until, that is, 1995 rolled along...and the rest, as they say, is history!

I am 50 and was a Huge Baltimore Colt fan. My father being from Baltimore and a Marine we grew up in Camp Lejuene, NC. So Terripen Born, Tarheel Bred.

Even after Unitas retired. I still followed with Bert Jones and Roger Carr. But when that moving van pulled up in 1984 and beat feet to Indy. I was a fan without a team. Thank god for the early days of Fantasy football. I remember sending a check for $5.00 a week plus a $1 for trade or waiver claims to a fantasy football site in NY. My friend and I played for 3 yrs with that before internet came along. I was a NY Giant fan because LT was from Carolina and my Wife (ex) was from Long Island and they were Giant fans.

The 1st time I heard about Jerry Richardson had put a bid in to be one of the new franchises. I got excited. Though initially we were a long shot I still prayed. When it was announced Carolina got the franchise I was ready for 0-16 seasons but I didn't care I finally found MY TEAM. I am a Panther Junkie. I try and read up on them like other watch the Daily news. My 1st internet activity is seeing if we have done anything over night.

It has been fun and one day I hope to celebrate with everyone here our 1st Super Bowl.

Go Panthers

It was a long time coming....welcome aboard the Panther fanbase now as a 100% member! It's a rollercoaster but I love thrill rides.

My transition to 100% Panther fan happened because a rich man named Snyder thought he could buy instantaneous success and made some big bone-headed moves that threw a good franchise into the abyss.

I love Big Cat. I am thankful everyday he brought the NFL to the Carolinas!

Never been a fan of any other team, been big on the Panthers since '02(the year I went to my 1st panthers game, and really got into NFL football).

Grew up in a house full of Steelers and Cowboy fans, though. Still trying to get them to root for the home team, and convert to full-time Panther fans lol.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
