Panthers TE King signs tender with Panthers

good. hope he has a better offseason than last. the dude was third on the depth chart and was out on the field working early like the other fringe players trying to make an impression. he was just getting out played by rosario and especially barnidge.

i don't think it would be a huge deal if he weren't on the team but he's very reliable hands. not much of a YAC guy but when you need a target he's a secure choice.

I suspect he's gonna lose allot of playing time to Gary Barnidge this year. A good receiving TE is an inexperienced QB's best friend.
probably so. i thought that was going to happen alst year because all through training camp it looked like barnidge was jake's favorite target. once it got to real game situations and jake was in panic mode barnidge was all but ignored.

he should do well with moore.

I think that it also came down to King being evaluated as a better blocker last year, but Barnidge has had another year to develop those skills and is a down-field threat.

    • I don't think working from memory is going to be very productive or useful. You would need to compare them all, which is far easier to do from the breakdowns of each game. That has tiered charts that give real data.  But, even then that wouldn't substitute for a trained eye(s) doing detailed film analysis to attempt to determine if we are modifying the offense dramatically for Bryce.
    • I think front office and general team culture under new ownership is sort of on the right track. The rookies all look incredible compared to where you'd expect each one of them to be right now. Lee's in game coaching is awful, he might be ok as a culture and developmental guy but that can't outweigh the in-game miscues and bad game plans. If LaMelo can't figure out the ankles then I think you gotta trade him for a haul, can't keep having your seasons lost every year because he can't stay on the court. And I say that as a big fan of him. Miller I think is unlucky, he looks likely to be an elite core player for us, but if he can't put together a stretch of healthy seasons he would trend towards LaMelo and need to be moved. I used to like Miles on the court a lot more but nowadays he's just an empty stat guy who needs to go. The short lived hot start to the season was fun but unless LaMelo and Miller both get and stay healthy within the next few weeks I can't even see us being a play-in team this year. And even if they do get healthy, we're probably looking at play-in at best, maybe barely compete for that fringe 6th seed.
