Safeties

This is one of those needs that no one is talking about.

And IF Evero is back.  This position is a massive massive piece to his defense in the 3-3-5

Xavier Woods, Fuller, Sam Franklin, and Nick Scott are hitting FA.  So essentially our entire 2 deep at both safety spots.

There are a couple guys in this draft I’m keeping an eye on as potential targets on day 2

first one is right by down the road at a program that we’ve become familiar with

Nick Emmanwori is a freak athlete mismatch nightmare.  If there are any South Carolina fans on here.  Let us know your thoughts on him.

The next one is Xavier Watts.  If there are any Notre Dame fans on here.  Would love for you to chime in and give your 2 cents on him.

My personal rule about safety- I just don't even draft one until round 5. 1st round, he better be Sean Taylor 2.4 or ed reed 3.5.

Woods should be had for 5 million per and toss fuller 3 again. The market is like RB is super team friendly. Many other players if woods doesn't sign.

There's lots of success in the 5-UDFAs, Carolina hit on Demani Richardson he had like 20 tacks and solid in pass.

I like safety, but not before the 3rd round.  We have too many other needs.  Safety is like the FB of the defense.  It has it's place, but the front 7 and top 3 corners are WAAAAY more important.

Has to be a rare talent for safety to be premium picks.  Also a luxury type pick for teams with few needs. We are not a team in that position. Best route will be FA.

    • More trades ahead of this year it seems like. That scrambles things up considerably. Or could.    Talented as he is, I’d just as soon take a chance elsewhere. They say the best indicator of future medical health is past history. His history, body parts come apart. Last thing we need.
    • I mean, Haulcy did visit and is arguably a second round pick, so I fully expect it. On the other side of the coin, if we grab Thieneman in the first, Devin Burks is arguably a second round pick. I doubt Lemon falls to us, so I think between days one and two, it will be some type of combination of Concepcion, Thieneman, Haulcy and Burks.
    • I listened to him draft season last year and it convinced me McShay is one of the go tos a few GMs use for misinformation.  His info last year was wildly off yet he claims he has direct FO intel.  Examples being- The Jags were eyeing Jeanty (trade back bait), he went on-and-on about Jalon Walker as a top-5 pick and was convinced Dart was a Saint.  Mason Graham was falling.  Milroe was apparently a 1st. This draft may be just as unpredictable, if not more than last years.
