We’re so close. We don’t know how to win yet, it will come. Add pieces this off season and we’re in business.

Need more pieces than can be acquired in one offseason, and need a different GM acquiring the pieces.
- a QB to battle Young for the starting job
- a RB to pair with Hubbard
- three or four wide receivers to pair with Thielen and Coker
- two tight ends
- offensive line depth across the board
- an entire new defensive line
- an entire new linebacking corps
- an entire new cornerback lineup
- a K to battle Pineiro

In fairness...still probably not.  Our Defense played well, but Philly would have got the ball back with 45 seconds and 3 timeouts, best case tied, or worst case down by one.  Nothing in my mind makes me think we stop Jalen Hurts and that offense.  Thats bread and butter time for them, although we'd prlly feel more like we did after the chiefs game where just gave them too much time.

Thats fair, but we all know the defense has no talent this year with injuries so wouldn’t really change your opinion of Bryce, XL, etc.

I also thought this. Kind of goes back to my point about there always being a goat. Legette catches that and falls in, and it's still a 52-yard FG leading to a loss. While you'd prefer to have a WR picked in the first round who can catch more than one out of five passes that hits his hands, that's just not the case here.

We don’t need another QB, Bryce is the guy going to have to accept it. Let’s see what Brooks has first, but yes maybe another late round RB. Think we only need one more WR. TMac, XL, Coker, Adam is a good room. TE is prob set next year with Sanders and Tremble. OL is fine, we will draft another interior guy to compete and be depth. DL should look nice with Brown coming back, Wonnoum, our 2nd round pick, and a FA add. LB another FA or 2 add.  Not worried about K.

that’s my optimistic take for next year.

Young needs someone to challenge him because he's still inconsistent and little. When he's on he can make plays, but only Dan Morgan would think anointing him as the unquestioned starter for a third year running would be smart. Even if you think he's the guy as a passer, he's small-framed and one hit puts you right back in 0-17 contention without a quality non-geriatric backup.

I haven't watched much of McMillan but if he's here I'd have to assume he can't catch worth a damn as long as he wears a black and blue jersey, because the two things go hand in hand. Coker's a solid WR2 if he could stay healthy but he can't. Legette's a WR4 who doesn't need more than 1-2 targets/drops a game. Throwing to him is like spiking the ball.

Dude got sacked record amount of times last year. Not going backwards on the small frame thing. Any QB regardless of size is one hit away from missing games, that isn’t specific to Bryce. You get a backup and roll with it. Bryce is the starter, that’s not changing.

XL needs offseason work. He can be a very nice #2 to TMac

Also to add, if its a possibility to bring dalton back on a cheap 1 or 2 year deal, I'd do it.  I think his veteran leadership has been a huge help to bryce.  Yea, we all joke about the "Bryce gets to watch how a veteran prepares" comment as soon as Andy threw an INT, BUT it still was true.  Dalton may not be able to execute in game like he used to, but he knows what a real NFL work week looks like as a starting NFL QB as well as what a NFL vet QB does during a game and Bryce got to see that for a few months, and I think that has translated to him.  Bryce IS a smart dude and apparently was able to learn from the benching.

I'm just saying, Young needs someone who can challenge him. 2-15 and 3-14 isn't enough to earn undisputed franchise guy treatment, even if some of those 14 weren't on him. And XL can be a nice #2 for the Arlington Renegades in a year. Dude has a fun personality, but Young gets more out of throwing it out of bounds than he does throwing to Legette.

Yeah we need a QB one way or another, no reason not to bring in a veteran smart type to be second to your young QB1. I’d love Flacco

2022 Lions were the exact same. They didn’t know how to win and were in the middle of building that culture with a young roster. Have some faith, future is bright.

Lions took several years of drafting really well to get where they are. Our GMs first draft is not looking so hot. First three picks got us a receiver that can't catch, a RB permanently on IR and a LBer that's bad at everything.

Would be a lot easier to get excited for the future if we landed some young cornerstone players we could build around, but just not seeing it. Coker maybe? I don't know.

Um....this past draft was easily the best draft we've had since tepper was the owner.  Brooks is the outlier.  XL still has been getting open, too early to say he's a bust, but god his drops have been beyond frustrating.  Still though, he's been getting separation which is more than what we had since Moore and that is promising.  Trev Wallace is a 3rd rounder developing.  Dont forget JT Sanders prior to the injury finally looked like a catching TE we've never had (I know Olsen was incredible, but he was more a traditional well rounded TE, Sanders is a big body that you flex out, Olsen didnt flex out often).  Smith Wade has been a decent value CB pick, and of course Coker has the potential to be really good as well.  Since Tepper has been here, I havent been this optimistic about a draft class.

This says more about how bad things have been under Tepper than any kind of ringing endorsement. I think that's where a lot of the fanbase is at now, slightly better than a complete dumpster fire is cause for celebration.

Yeah, I like Sanders. Coker looks promising. Draft overall still pretty "meh" and underwhelming on the whole. Only looks good when you compare it to the complete disaster that Fitterer was.

    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
    • Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.
    • Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
