The Panthers can make history on Sunday in 3 different defensive categories.

First- Most points allowed in a season. Currently, the Panthers are 7th with 496 points allowed. For reference we only allowed 470 in 2019. The top 6 shakes out like this-

  • 1981 Colts-533
  • 2020 Lions-519
  • 2023 Commanders- 518
  • 2008 Lions-517
  • 2021 Jets-504
  • 1966 Giants- 501

Next, the Panthers have allowed the 12th most rushing yards in a season with one game left to go and will likely crack the Top 5-

  • 1978 Bills- 3,228
  • 1980 Saints-3,106
  • 1978 Colts-3,010
  • 1977 Chiefs-2,971
  • 1981 Patriots-2,950
  • 2022 Texans-2,894
  • 1979 Packers- 2,885
  • 1978 Seahawks-2,876
  • 1976 Chiefs-2,861
  • 1950 Colts- 2,857
  • 1973 Patriots-2,850
  • 2024 Panthers-2,830

Finally, it also looks like the Panthers could crack the Top 5 in Total Yards Allowed in a season. Right now, they have 6,340

  • 2012 Saints- 7,042
  • 1981 Colts- 6,793
  • 2021 Jets-6,765
  • 2015 Giants-6,725
  • 2020 Lions-6,716

I'll update this thread with the finals next week.

Fair enough, bottom 10 instead of 5 in history now.

Yeah we surely suck and our scheme is too passive to me. I want a DC who likes to blitz, create pressure and use more man press coverage. I think that scheme helps hide weaknesses instead of magnify them with our lack of pressure and bend until you break prevent zone.

    • Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.
    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
    • I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
