Now that I think about it...

…The draft didn't go as well as I originally though and I'm kinda pissed.

  1. It's like nobody has faith in Moore yet. Does he really need 2.5 rookies to back him up??

  2. We still only drafted one D linesman.

  3. I don't understand why we picked up Wallace Wright along with all these WR draft picks. Now we have 7 wide outs, even though we're a team that rarely uses our #3 guy.

  4. Armanti Edwards could've been snatched further down.

  5. Do we really need three more defensive backs??

I thought the draft went well considering who the picks actually are, but all together… Some picks just seem like wastes.

Don't get me wrong, they were all great picks, but we barely addressed our D line, which was our biggest concern entering the draft.

I was wondering the same thing regarding the DL situation but with all the DL that were taken in the draft, Fox might be preparing to garbage pick and make a DL out of those guys. Similar to what we did with the OL a couple years back

i disagree. d-line was the 2nd biggest need. wide receiver was the biggest. steve smith will be 31 this season and he's the only reliable receiver we have. we've tried in the past to draft guys hoping they'd turn into something and none have. we had to draft a bunch this year in hopes that one or two have long term potential. we have plenty of average to undersized defensive tackles. there weren't any good huge nose tackles that we could've gotten that i know of. what did you want us to do?

You're all tearing me up about this, but of all teams in the NFL, we don't need to draft 3 wide outs. Yeah, they can help on special teams, and yes, we can cut Jarrett and Kenny Moore. But our D Line has no depth what so ever. We could use free agency I guess, but I don't see us being very active at all, as usual.

Hoe does the DLine not have depth? You should recheck the roster.

If anything depth is the strength.

    • Do you honestly believe this is a team that will even be in contention for a playoff spot this year? To me, if you're not at minimum a genuine playoff caliber team, every win you get is a meaningless win in the end.  This is the NFL, it's not peewee league where you just want to win a few games and have fun, you want to get into the playoffs and have a shot at making a SB run. We haven't had a winning season in how many years?   Does "enjoying" a small handful of wins every year really make for an enjoyable season for you? I said it months ago and I'll say it forever, I don't care about winning or losing this year, as we don't have a playoff caliber roster yet and I'm a realist about where we are as a franchise.  I'd enjoy watching the games so much more if the team and Bryce in particular were just showing marked improvement, even if it came in losses.   Because THAT would give me hope for the future of the franchise and the direction we're going. Bryce was complete garbage in Week 1, in Week 2 he was terrible until the Cardinals went into super soft prevent defense and then collapsed gain when the game was in reach, and he was a serviceable game manager today, but didn't make any throws that any college QB couldn't make. This game was a perfect chance to let Bryce go out there and play loose because of the lead, just let him be himself and see if it sparks his college self.  But instead, we went unbelievably conservative with the play calling to help ensure the win, when actual wins and losses are the least of our worries this year, it's figuring out what Bryce can be (fans may be decided, but the team obviously has not yet).
    • Pretty fair assessment overall. I can’t say a lot since I didn’t watch but going by the comments I am betting he (Canales) was very conservative and a large reason would be to prevent Bryce giving it away half the day.
