Jim Clausen video(Perfect Game)

I can't see Golden Tate becoming the next Steve Smith, sorry he just doesn't have the aggression and strength Smitty has. Does anyone know what Steve Smith weighed in at the combine? I was just curious. Smith seems very Strong for his size but Tate weighs about 15 pounds more and is two inches taller.

I also have high hopes of David Gettis, he played for a team with a horrible pass game and didnt put up great numbers but shows great potential, I read only one bad thing about him

Hands: Catches nearly everything thrown his way, but traps the ball against his chest too often; needs to trust his large and strong hands and catch the ball away from his frame. Extends to grab wide throws and reaches above his head to snare high throws, exhibiting good body control in the air.

I think our new WR coach can fix that problem

I don't get the comparisons either (Tate/Smitty). yeah....he's compact, but if you look at the two of them...Tate is more of a barrel torso, where Smitty has barrel thighs. Both can get up to full speed very quickly, but I see Smith breaking more of the leg grabs simply due to strength there. Tate will probably prove me wrong though.

I was wondering how Smith weighed less than Tate but was Smith has a lot more strength. I have noticed leg strength is great for breaking tackles which is what Smitty can do very well( Look at the Houston game where he broke the tackle for a td.)

he's everything mechanically that Jake Delhomme was not.

The way he stayed poised and ready to throw even while on the move is impressive. And when he does throw it's getting their in a hurry and it's where its supposed to be.

He has the potential to be a monster if he can make the adjustment to the pro game.

Is it just me or does Notre Dame offensive line suck? the kid seemed to be running around dodging the defense every play and still only threw 4 interceptions this year.

that bolded part got me thinking about something...

i have seen that people are concerned with how clausen will be in the huddle and if he will be abrasive to other players but he can't be much more than jake was in the huddle.

one thing that i think that people forget was that jake was hard on the WRs when they dropped balls or screwed up. he was in smith's face quite a bit.

everyone seems to think that jake was this good ol fella that apologized to everyone when ever a mistake was made whether it was his fault or not.
