Chris Harris Traded For LB Jamar Williams

Panthers have got to have the worst FO in the league.

Not only are you giving up what little we have run defense, they also give up a team leader/personality.

Also a great off-field contributor and presence in the locker room.

What makes things worse we didn't get anything of equal value.

And what Cap-relief? He wasn't making that much in the first place.

Harris demanded to be traded. They tried to deal him before and during the draft for something more, didn't happen. Chicago didn't get the safety help it needed in the draft. All they would give up was Jamar Williams and that was better than keeping Harris who no longer wanted to be here.

I don't recall.

Wouldn't have this been in an article or something?

Because Harris sucked and was just holding us back as a team. Didn't you read the thread?

I've been wondering why everyone thinks that the Panthers wanted to trade him and not the other way around.

A team leader do not bash the FO over twitter. A team leader do not try to turn younger players against the FO.

Harris was a great leader. A greater leader on this team than he was a great player. But he lost all that when he started his twitter poo

as small as this team is, we would have heard about him wanting out.

Just like we knew everything else that has happened?

I mean, I just saw all those cuts coming. You guys didn't hear about that? I also heard that Peppers was offered a deal before he left and he didn't take it. What? You're kidding! You didn't hear about that before he left?! I knew we were going to trade Harris; it's such a small team, you're bound to hear about things before the players even know!

    • We had a QB who could do that and its the last time we went to the Super Bowl and the only time we had an MVP. Once he lost his ability to do that he was out of the league. To filter out insignificant stats I will only look at QBs who have played in 10 or more games this year. There are 28 qualifying QBs. Bryce is 25th in Air Yards per Attempt at 6.4. Only Joe Flacco, Cam Ward, and Dillon Gabriel are worse (6.0, 5.8, 5.1). Trevor Lawrence, Patrick Mahomes, and CJ Stroud are the median QBs at 7.1. Drake Maye and Sam Darnold lead the league at 8.7. Bryce is 18th in the league for passes that travel 30+ yards at 12. The median is Caleb Williams at 15. The league leader is Matthew Stafford with 26. With passes that travel 40+ yards, Bryce is tied with three others at 21st in the league with 3. Only Jacoby Brissett, Cam Ward, Joe Flacco, and Dillon Gabriel are worse. The median is a three-way tie with Drake Maye, Trevor Lawrence, and Baker Mayfield with 6. The league leader is Sam Darnold with 12. Having the ability to complete passes down the field (not YAC) stretches the defense and makes them account for more ground. It keeps players out of the box and keeps formations in nickel or dime, less line backers for your RBs to worry about. Bryce is why we have 2 losses against the Saints. If he had the outright ability to sling the football down field we beat the easily, but he doesn't. So they crowded the box and our 2 starting caliber RBs with our top ~10 Oline couldn't carry the offense to a win on their own. The limitations of the offense fall squarely on Bryce.
    • Bryce’s deep passes are intermediate passes for other strong armed QBs. I will say that Bryce’s accuracy on his deep passes have improved. Before they would just sail out of bounds. Now the WR actually has a fighting chance on the ball.
