I am with Dpanther here. I will cosign this and also say the DLINE will exceed the ridiculously low expectations of many Huddlers. Ron Meeks's scheme is fully entrenched and the young guys have a year in the system improvement is inevitable. GRANTED we likely won't be too strong against the run but i think we will get pressure on the QB and our secondary and linebackers will make plays.

WR and it's no contest. We know who our DEs are and that's who they'll be for the entire season. If they do great, great. If they suck, it'll suck. We know who our DTs are as they were here last season. If they don't step up we'll get run over and over and over.

We know nothing about our WRs other than Smitty. Can LaFell play? Can he be a #2? Will Jarrett even be here? Can all the other scrubs even take an ounce of pressure off Smitty? What if teams zero in on Double Trouble and take Smitty out of the game? Then what? Yeah...our WR core has a great chance of sucking BIG TIME this season. I feel so bad for Smith. He wanted a big time WR in here and we gave him LaFell and a guy who hasn't played WR since high school.

Explain to me how the Safety situation is questionable.

godfrey moves to strong from free... martin starts .. neither very expereinced and if one gets hurt .. francisco is terrible and we are stuck with unprovern rookies .. thus confirming your explanation in a completely unassholified manner unlike most folks are doing this week :P

    • so.....the entire second round is essentially holding out for guaranteed contracts.  Seems like it is stuck w/ Judkins and Emmanowori being the 3rd and 4th picks of that round and whatever slow trickle down does or doesn't produce from them.
    • This is always a non-story by the time camp begins.
    • I've really only begun to pay attention this week being that training camp is looming, so I was personally caught off guard by the fact that Nic Scourton remains unsigned. That's not necessarily bad news, but it's not necessarily good news either. Apparently it's a thing with this year's draft class. "Of the 32 players selected in the second-round, 30 remained unsigned and the clock is ticking. "Already we've seen one second-round pick hold out from the start of training camp with that player being Los Angeles Chargers' wide receiver Tre Harris. Harris did not report with the rest of the Chargers' rookies on Saturday due to his contract situation, a issue that could impact nearly every other team in the league. "For the Panthers, defensive end Nic Scourton is the player to watch for when rookies start showing back up to the team facilities next week. "The 51st overall pick is one of the 30 second-rounders who has yet to sign their rookie contract and the reason why is due to the other two that have actually signed. "Cleveland Browns' linebacker Carson Schwesinger and Houston Texans' wide receiver Jayden Higgins each signed fully guaranteed contracts as the first and second players drafted in the second-round. Prior to this year, second-round picks never received a fully guaranteed deal, only players selected in the first-round." https://atozsports.com/nfl/carolina-panthers-news/panthers-nic-scourton-contract-second-round-pick-training-camp-hold-out-tre-harris/ So, I suppose we'll see what's what pretty soon. It's definitely something to monitor.
