Drinking the Panther Kool-Aid

Funny how a lot of you guys seem to be delusional about how this team will be better next year. How can the Panthers be better than last year? They're an 8-8 team that lost most of its defensive starters. They've made zero moves in free agency. The starting QB has little league experience, with no depth behind him. There is STILL no big time receiver to complement Smith.

Please don't drive your cars after drinking that stuff!!! Get strapped for 3-13.

Everybody's entitled to their opinion just as you are... I tend to be more positive and optimistic in regards to the Panthers, but if you want to get on here and preach doom and gloom you can certainly do that. Some will agree with you and others won't, but all the while, I'll still be a fan win or lose...

While he may be trolling, his opinion (while many would say closer to 6-10 rather than 3-13) is the overwhelmingly prevalent opinion among fans and pundits about the Panthers. If we have a winning season and make the playoffs it will be considered a big surprise especially given who we lost and still have not replaced.

Just sayin.....................

    • I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
    • LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.
    • After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
