  1. 1. Would you want Fox back as HC after next season?

    • No, we can't let go of the past. It's time for a fresh face in Carolina.

For me the better poll is what do you think is going to happen with Fox. I have told folks I think he is either not going to be extended at all, or he will be offered an extension and he will turn it down for money elsewhere. Other options could include they can't agree on the money, Fox takes his offer and shops for more money, he gives us a hometown discount, he goes to Tampa and brings the whole playbook with him, etc.

If the Panthers have a great season...it will be because of the front office involvement. I am sure Foxy does not like having his autonomy taken away. The FO is classy, so they will not comment. Foxy will look like a great coach. Another team will offer Foxy a big contract.

Losing season...he is gone....the uninformed media and other teams will blame it on the "purge of veteran talent"....Foxy will get a good contract with another team.

Either way, this is Foxy's last year. I am sure JR has a plan for the future.

At this point it's impossible to know what happens to Fox... Of course there are loads of factors that will play into where he coaches next season... How the season starts... How it ends... Do the younger players develop... Unless those are positive results, he probably won't be offered a contract... And who knows, he may not accept one if it were offered...

Life after Fox? Most people point to Cowher as the logical choice, and I agree it's both intriguing and a solid choice... But I'm personally just as interested, if not moreso, in Brian Billick...

Brian Billick????

He was an offensive coordinator who when given a head coach job had a team with a terrible offense. Even when they went 13-3 in 2006 their offense was ranked 17th. He had little to do with the defense which was the only good part of the Ravens. While his playoff record was 5-3, 4 of those wins were in his second season when they won the Superbowl. In his last 7 years with the team he went to the playoffs 3 of those years and was a combined 1-3 with 2 first round exits.

He hardly seems to be a step up from Fox.

I would take Gruden over Billick if I wanted an offensive minded guy. But that is just me.

You know I'm starting to believe that this has merit to it if you really think about it. Regardless of whether or not it was planned to work this way, this is how it's going to shake out.

I think honestly if people look at where we were before fox and where we've

been with him since 02 that the record stands, he is a good coach. I think a lot of people get caught up in the thinking that only a different coach cold take us to the next level. I think we really need to take a step back and look at the possibility that if we went in another direction we run the risk of becoming like all the other short sighted franchises. We were 1-15 the year before him. That's "Raider" bad. I don't

want to be there again. Give fox the extension.
