Saints Pick Up Beavers

Recommended Posts

Slowest part of the offseason. I'd thought I'd share it.

The Saints signed three receivers -- Larry Beavers, Roy Hall and Andy Tanner. None are big names, but they could compete for a roster spot behind the likes of Marques Colston, Robert Meachem, Devery Henderson and Lance Moore.

The Saints can continue picking up the Panthers trash. They may have a ring but we've pretty much owned them they last 3-4 years. Remember the Smitty catch between 2 Saints DB's to put us in FG range to win the game? Ownage.

Yep. I'll take a catch like that over a Super Bowl victory any day.

Let's not forget that 2 of the Panthers victories over the Saints since 2006 have been the last week of the season when the Saints had their playoff seed locked up and were playing their 2nd and 3rd string. Congrats on those strong defeats over Jamie Martin and Mark Brunnel.

Any of you who would trade one catch for a Super Bowl ring need your head examined. Then again, you are Panthers fans and all..........And congratulations on beating Jason David on a catch. You and about 31 other teams in the league. That's like patting yourself on the back for screwing "that girl" back in school.

And here comes the SR douchebags. They have their panties in a wad because some fat ass on their board died. He was not even a resident of New Orleans and they did some trust fund thing for him that brought in a whopping 2000 bucks. You know those douche bag mods over there pocketed the money. If you ask me the only good SR poster is a dead SR poster, so one down about 3k more to go. What a fuging dicklick site that waisteland is. Btw you can never have too much beaver in New Orleans! Oh and yes you have "owned" us the last couple years, but bottom line is we got da rings!

    • We had a QB who could do that and its the last time we went to the Super Bowl and the only time we had an MVP. Once he lost his ability to do that he was out of the league. To filter out insignificant stats I will only look at QBs who have played in 10 or more games this year. There are 28 qualifying QBs. Bryce is 25th in Air Yards per Attempt at 6.4. Only Joe Flacco, Cam Ward, and Dillon Gabriel are worse (6.0, 5.8, 5.1). Trevor Lawrence, Patrick Mahomes, and CJ Stroud are the median QBs at 7.1. Drake Maye and Sam Darnold lead the league at 8.7. Bryce is 18th in the league for passes that travel 30+ yards at 12. The median is Caleb Williams at 15. The league leader is Matthew Stafford with 26. With passes that travel 40+ yards, Bryce is tied with three others at 21st in the league with 3. Only Jacoby Brissett, Cam Ward, Joe Flacco, and Dillon Gabriel are worse. The median is a three-way tie with Drake Maye, Trevor Lawrence, and Baker Mayfield with 6. The league leader is Sam Darnold with 12. Having the ability to complete passes down the field (not YAC) stretches the defense and makes them account for more ground. It keeps players out of the box and keeps formations in nickel or dime, less line backers for your RBs to worry about. Bryce is why we have 2 losses against the Saints. If he had the outright ability to sling the football down field we beat the easily, but he doesn't. So they crowded the box and our 2 starting caliber RBs with our top ~10 Oline couldn't carry the offense to a win on their own. The limitations of the offense fall squarely on Bryce.
    • Bryce’s deep passes are intermediate passes for other strong armed QBs. I will say that Bryce’s accuracy on his deep passes have improved. Before they would just sail out of bounds. Now the WR actually has a fighting chance on the ball.
