Giant Shark vs. Giant Octopus

I'm pretty sure u mean Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus!

And there are a few incredibad moments that make it worth watching. Like a shark eating ajumbo jet out of the air, and just generally watching some one "drive" a submarine with a Joystick.

Just thought I'd add my general feelings on these movies:

My problem with these Sci-Fi, (Excuse me, Syfy) movies is that the general formula is "take a predator, and make it bigger." Like that's scary. Syfy needs to experiment; change up the formula. Giant Alligator, Giant Lizard, Giant Squirrel, Giant Snake, Giant Pinata. Stop it! How does a Syfy movie pitch go?

"I want to do a movie about a Giant anteater. It sticks its tongue down subway shafts and eats people waiting for the M-train."

"Does it do anything special?

"No, it's just like a normal ant-eater, but bigger."

"Sold." (Actually, that half-baked idea is probably more clever than most on Syfy. I personally would watch that.)

But the problem is, giant creatures only work on that one level. They're big. So what? I wouldn't be worried about a Megashark or a Giant Octopus at all. A Mega Shark and Giant octopus wouldn't even bother with me as prey. I would basically be a single sunflower seed to them. And there's nothing scary about being swallowed whole, what's scary is when you get devoured with teeth, claws and fangs.

And why would a Giant Shark eat a ship, a plane or a bridge? It's metal; no nutritional value at all. A shark wouldn't eat that! It's not scary, it's just stupid.

Look at Tremors and Deep Blue Sea. In tremors, you had big worms, but it wan't just big worms, the second level was they hunted by the sound of surface movement. Deep Blue Sea had giant sharks (and SLJ) but they weren't just giant sharks, they were smart sharks.

Come on Syfy. Every nerd already knows [or desparately hopes], "bigger is not necessarily better as long as you are clever."

Bite your tongue...Tremors is a classic.

I was using Tremors as an illustration of how to do a giant monster movie right.

Remember, this isn't the Tinderbox. You and I agree on everything else.

aaahhh

gotcha...honestly...I was just taking the opportunity to hype the awesomeness of Tremors

    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
    • Nah we just talking about giving a platform and normalizing predators (who both beat women) opinions and celebrating it if it fits your narrative.  If that's fun I'm fine being a miserable fug by not supporting P.O.S like that. N b4 you call me a libtard or some other dumb ish know I'm an Anarchist/Libertarian and believe both these dudes should get a complete ass whooping (at min) or something worse for what they have done to women in this world.
