Something wrong up in here

I usually skim the threads here...post occasionally. It is not the same as it was a couple of years ago....but I still am hoping.

There are some wonderful people here. It is fun to feel like I have friends here. I will never forget the tremendous support I received about 3 years ago when I lost my job (due to deliberate misinformation by someone who wanted me out of her way...and has since gotten a promotion). That was the absolute low point in my life (other than the death of people I loved). The encouragement and support was so wonderful. It felt sincere and was very meaningful. I was fortunate to receive 2 good job offers within a week, but I will never forget how everyone here helped me. It was a very difficult time made easier by my friends here. . That is part of what keeps me around. There are some really good people here.

But things have changed, not for the good. Some really great posters have left. I miss them. The general IQ and maturity level seems to have declined ( for lack a better way of saying it). I love intelligent humor....and there are some really funny people here. Problem is, IMO the crass immature stuff, seems to have taken over.

Those old, great posters........ please keep posting. Some of the newer ones....grow up just a little please.

This may be too serious a response....but it comes from my affection for the Huddle.

i agree with this. and most of it is the same unfunny joke repeated by different people because it's just what they think they're supposed to say. the first 2.5 pages of this thread is a prime example.

Ladypanther said it very well, so did rodeo.

I find the people who seem to have been in a certain former poster's supporters have that same immature humor.

Some inside jokes come from familarity, but they are funnier when used sparingly or at an appropriate moment. It isn't funny in every thread.

Also, so many lately seem to have zero Panthers credibility. I can name about 10 people's posts I will pay attention to - especially for Panthers stuff.

it's the internet in general. it's turned into just a big hamster wheel of the same sentences said over and over. nobody tries to be funny on their own anymore by saying creative things, they just repeat something they heard, and usually it's lowest common denominator humor.

there are a lot of genuinely funny people around here like meat and panthro. but for the most part when i venture outside of the tinderbox i just see the same run of the mill jokes said with different phrasing, trying to one-up how crass the last person to use the same joke was.

    • Wow that’s actually really cool chatgpt can do that Although, as we know Arizona sat in soft zone the entire second half. So there was a lot of dinking and dunking, but that’s the right thing to do in that situation.  Week 1 pass chart doesn’t look bad. He pushes the ball downfield more than several other quarterbacks I’ve watched. For some reason the huddle thinks other quarterbacks are constantly throwing 60 yard bombs. That is absolutely not the case. Some quarterbacks aren’t taking any deep shots at all.
    • We keep referring to it as Over drafting him like he was really a first round draft pick. We traded up at the end of the first to get him in a deal with Buffalo so that we could grab him and get an extra year on his contract if needed. At the time that sounded like "If he really soars, we can get that fifth year extension automatically". It really probably meant, "We might need five years to really get him up to starting WR speed."  He was basically a second rounder with a potentially meaningless pick as well to pay for those rights. Still, I think that with him we are on the Kelvin Benjamin bubble right now... will he ever be more than just an athlete? Can he really learn to fight and compete for that ball? Can he learn professional routes? Can he handle the fame and more money than he's ever seen in his life? Can he handle all of the pressure a fanbase puts on him? Tough shoes to fill. Not sure I'd want to be in them. I hope he gets it all together soon. A lot, most draftees, can't. Good luck and God bless to the young man. He's got a lot of work to do in a very unforgiving workplace.
    • This is the #1 reason I defend Bryce. Everyone around him is learning on the job, including him. But hey in 3 years we could have a talented offense that grew up together.
