Panthers LB Thomas Davis tears another ACL

(By Darin Gantt, [email protected]) CHARLOTTE -- The Carolina Panthers got this season's first taste of worst-case scenario Wednesday, when tests confirmed the original diagnosis of another torn knee ligament for linebacker Thomas Davis. p/Davis was lost last November when he blew his right anterior cruciate ligament while backpedaling and planting on the Louisiana Superdome turf. That one was a non-contact injury, and Tuesday's spill was eerily similar. While backpedaling during individual drills next to teammate Jon Beason, Davis went down without being touched by another player, and immediately gripped his right knee.

Well TD carreer is pretty much over with. I'm sure panthers number one next year will be ona linebacker to replace TD. I wouldn't be the least surprise if he called it a carreer after this. He want be playing this year. If this lockout happens. Don't expect to see TD back in a panthers uniform. He is done with us. Time to move on.:cryin:

Well, Jamar will now get his shot to start. Best of luck to Thomas. I know it's gotta suck to have to go through all that rehab again. He'll be back to playing football, probably wont be with us, but he'll be back.

    • Dabo said the timeline is about  3-5 years.  IMO, he has been pretty spot on about college football overall…..and IMO I think he was speaking not off a gut but just the general inside consensus.  the end game is for the top of college football to essentially have their own league/division and that doesn’t just mean Clemson leaves the ACC….it means UGA, Michigan, etc all leave their conference too.
    • So you are a Carolina fan, and the administration knows this, if Carolina goes to the SEC they will be below Vandy and you and I both know I’m not kidding, they have not been the greatest and basketball lately either.  It would be an absolute disaster for Carolina to go to the SEC.  Look at SC, they may finally have something this year but they left the ACC in what?  The 80’s?  What have they done in the SEC in 40 years?  That will be any ACC school that goes to the SEC or the Big 10 and they know it.  Especially Carolina, they have nothing to offer the SEC, we already know that Clemson and FSU has been denied by the board, they couldn’t go if they wanted to…where would they go?
    • This wasn't unknown to the public. It was covered previous to the trade and going back to June in the media. So the Packers would know.  It probably just isnt considered significant.   https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46097336/cowboys-appear-open-micah-parsons-trade-offers
